#Ads from AdColony takes you to a link without you tapping it

Ads (for Lords Mobile) by AdColony, when finished, immediately takes you out of the game and opens a link in the web browser (presumably to the Play Store; I've always immediately closed it). No tapping necessary. This is absolutely unacceptable. I've seen a lot of shitty tactics from ad providers, and I can tolerate a fair amount of long wait times, multiple timers and hard-to-tap x'es, but one that reroutes you without consent is basically malware.

Please remove these ads from the game.

Unfortunately, this is not a problem that the devs can fix

#

It’s the ad providers problem

They can't choose which ad providers they use?

This has been added to our bug tracking system as the issue CELL-1829. As we resolve that issue, updates will be posted back here.

Hello - @paper raptor , we 100% agree with you that this is unforgiveable behavior, but unfortunately @wild thunder is mostly right. This is on the ad provider's side, and we have multiple ad networks. The ad networks actually do forbid this behavior, and when we see it we complain to the ad network, and they're supposed to remove the offending ad. But that's all we can do. The only other thing that we could do would be to leave the ad network entirely, but that is like cutting off our nose to spite our face. We would get fewer ads in the game, which means they would be more repetitive, and it still wouldn't fix the problem.

The one thing that could help on top of what we're doing is for you to report the ads, if you can. Some ad networks provide a way to report ads (like Vungle), and if you do that, they do listen to you as much as to us.

@autumn raven I understand, thanks for replying. I was planning on recording the ad in question like was asked, but I haven't seen it since. So maybe the provider already fixed the problem. Let's hope.

Yeah - again, they're supposed to filter those out. Sounds like a success story, though probably a temporary one.

Encountered another one. No way to report it, but I took this screenshot of perhaps some relevant info.

@autumn raven If you have a way to report this on your end, I'd really appreciate it!
