Yesterday I completed the last objective before the 9th one and it started the completion dialogue and awarded my 1st place trophy. I was able to complete the 9th objective shortly thereafter and no one was close in progress but that’s besides the point in a close race. I wasn’t able to screenshot it.

I don't think this is a bug, completing the last objective counts as finishing the event, even if you don't get previous ones
