reset the simulation and all my progress was wiped

So, basically, I reset the simulation for the second time today (I already had the game a long time ago and I've done this a hella lot of times) and I lost the access to augmentations and timed events, and at the start of the new universe I couldnt get to beyond and mesozoic simulations, but now I can and those are intact. What the f?
