I am including two screenshots. I expected this would happen since it happened in previous events, so this time I set out to record it.
In one screenshot I have completed the event as first while darvin100000 is below me. On the second day it shows that darvin100000 has now beat me and I've instead been awarded second.

I think that's how the leaderboard is supposed to work in this scenario, but devs can correct me if I'm wrong

I was awarded the 25. it just seems odd or like a cheat.
The only thing I could think of is scoreboard lag because it took 12 hours to populate.

I guessed you received the logits, but then what happens to the other player in terms of logits?

They still receive the 25 logits. Not being able to collect them comes from not collecting them before leaving the event.

Yes, I received the 25 logits after getting a faster time yet finishing after. For not being able to collect, there are multiple bug reports of leaving the event and coming back to no prize.
