Dodo progress doesn't save.

I play on two different devices and use the linked account feature to move the same game between the two. Mostly on my tablet when home, but check in and do simple upgrades on my phone when out.
But, every time I try to load my current game on my phone, I am back to all 66 dodos.
For example, when done on my tablet I pull up my linked account to be sure it has saved. Close my game. Then later when I open the game on my phone, I look at my linked account and it tells me there is a different game save. I download the save. It appears to work, but when done I still have 66 dodos on my phone.
