My leaderboard profile name was reset, and I can't set it back to its original value

When I upgraded to 20_84, one of the first things that I did is I took a look at the leaderboard. When I did this, I shown a message describing the leader board as if I was going in for the first time. It then asked me to enter a profile name as shown. When I tried to enter my username, mathguthrie, it gave me that error that I have attached to this bug report. I then typed in a a random string, and it accepted it. Basically, it would be nice if I could get my profile name back to being my username.

I've had this happen to me like three times now, I have multiple variations of my username that I can no longer use

having the same issue, but somehow my name is still there in the top part of the leaderboards, while in the actual leaderboard i'm as "New Researcher"

I have the same problem after my phone got formatted and the last cloud save I found was nearly a year old so my name is gone and I cannot use my old name again

Hey @everyone are you guys still having the issue on the latest version ? If you are, please tag me with your username that you guys lost because of the save system. I'll change your names so that you can have your original usernames

I also lost my username RealNapalm, am now R34lN4p4lm. Furthermore lost my Progress in current Event 68% and lost 190 Darwin qubes.

In the previous version i still had my name but it showed up as "new researcher" in the leaderboard list

I recently opened the game again for the first time in months and tapped thisn screen. I typed it in about 2 hours ago, closed the game, came back and it keeps asking me. Now it's saying name not available

@pearl remnant Hello! I have the same issue. When I logged in yesterday after a long pause I had lost my original user name "Siria". I created a new name "Sirilah" yesterday but when I just logged in today, it was lost again. I updated the game to the latest version too.
