Interaction on Main Sim at startup made me follow lunch

I opened the event tab and held the "Let's Go" for a moment in indecision and the "Now following lunch" message popped up. I don't have social features unlocked. The message occurred after the calendar and before the offline awards.

Now I'm not sure if it was before or after offline rewards loaded, which I doubled with an ad (probably useless information).
Anyways, proof I don't have the Neural Network unlocked:
