When I run the nanobots in the tea event, you can see the little tea leaf icons shooting out from the nanobots and heading up to the resource statistics area. But you don't see any teacups flying upwards, even though the teacup rate does go up while the nanobots are running. If the teacup rate is going up, then I would expect to see some teacup icons as well.
#No animation of tea cups when running nanobots in tea event

hey mathguthrie, since you cannot **click **to get "tea cups", nanobots won't be able to click "tea cups". "tea cups" is unclocked when you buy the generator "tea beverage". the only way to get "tea cups" is buying generators.
So what you are saying is that the nanobots are like an autoclicker? That is not obvious from their description:
It always felt like they were connected to what the generators were making. I say this because in the main simulation, the nanobots produce both ideas and entropy simultaneously even though I can only get one or the other, but not both when I manually click, depending on where my mouse is.
@sand anchor ^^
thanks for letting us know! we will put a note on it
The bug that you are reporting, i think it is just a feature and I think it was intentional.
I don't know if this changes anything but it does appear that the rate of tea production does go up when you activate the nanobots. I have attached two screen shots. One of them was taken before I activated the nanobots, and the other was taken after I activated the nanobots. (You can see the tea leaves flying in the one take after the activation.) And The rates on the tea leaves and the tea cups both increased. So there is no tea cup animation even though the tea cup rate did increase.
Now to be fair, it seems that both resources being shown in animations seems only to occur in the main simulation. As it turns out, in the money exploration, only shells get animated when nanobots get activated, even though every type of resource gets a boost during the activation. So this may in fact just be more of an issue of UI consistency than anything else. And even then, there does seem to be some consistency between the exploration simulations.
I android I get one particle containing all currencies when I active nanobots in the money exploration, so I'm not sure if only steam experiences the bug where only shells display, or only android doesn't and it's not a bug, or something else
