So, I cycled around again and just got the Argentinosaurus again. When I first saw it, the upgrade badge wasn't lit up, but as soon as I upgraded the traits for the Mosasaurus, the badge for the Argentinosaurus lit up without there being any available trait upgrades. The last time around, it didn't clear until the secondary trait for pay (not automation/speed) was in place. Unless this is an indicator of some hidden special trait upgrade that I don't know about, it is most certainly broken.

Also, when collecting shells (currency) they mistakenly flow to the Mutagen side instead of the proper side:

So I leveled up and still saw the same issue until I got to level 47 and had a chance to upgrade the "pay trait" of Giant Vertebrae and then the badge stopped being lit up.

I have a hypothesis as to why this might have happened.

The code that checks to light up the badge is checking existing inventory of trait cards for the current user and whether any of the quantities are enough to get to the next trait level. If it checked for the same thing, but restricted it to traits that are available at the current level it would reflect what is possible at this level. Right now it checks to see if an upgrade is available at any level, because there was an assumption that it would not be possible to get trait cards from a higher level before you got to the level that exposed that trait.

It could be that before I leveled up my prestige, I still had a Mystery Trait or a stone geode to claim, and by claiming it after my "prestige" reset, I was able to get trait cards for dinos that were at the highest levels which would lay unusable until I got back to those levels, at which point the dino would indicate that an upgrade was available even though that trait wasn't yet exposed, making it impossible to clear the upgrade badge lighting until I could see the trait and upgrade it.
