when clicking twice to activate Nanobots and immediately switch to buyers, the button changes accordingly, but the Bots still farm entropy/ideas.
To then activate the buyer function, you have to click twice again, slowly, cycling the button back to buyers.
In the event simulation, this bug doesn't exist.

You might need to your tree closer to more generators/upgrades. nanobots on buy mode sometimes get confused when they do not have things to buy onscreen.
