@misty cedar honestly just wait overnight. After a few simulation restarts i learned to buy new creatures as a group of ten, buy all the upgrades and buy ten of the next creature. Generally i keep it in tiers ( 30 amino acids, 20 dna, 10 cells...) Then just keep building in that pattern.
