There's no fossil to the right of tetrapods? Make sure you're zoomed out.
Did you opt into the beta? I had to exit and restart steam completely to get the Dinos to show up.

so you gather metabits in your sim then reset

I have purchased 23 upgrades (in addition to the base "Reality Engine" node. The most expensive one being somewhere around 65m metabits. I don't see any "tech tree lines" suggesting more upgrades are possible. Have I basically beaten the game (as much as is currently released?)
