It misses about a third of my auto clicks, whether I run at 5 or 50.

And then it eventually starts pausing for about a second at a time, probably for garbage collection

Unity also seems to handle click events poorly. Rather than use the location data from the click, it just tells the app there was a click, and the app reads the current mouse position, instead of the position that was in the click. So if you get behind on clicks, they take effect in the wrong place. I'm guessing this is a Unity thing, because I've seen it in apps from several developers

The game is really pretty, but the art assets are a bit wasteful, I think they could be better used as a diorama where its just two screens, one of a "galactic" scale and one of a "civilisation" scale. The galactic scale would show how the planet is changing, the civilisation scale would show how your new ages and technologies are applying to the world in question

I have been doing it when my total metabits earned goes up by more than 20%, but I've stopped now because the number of days it will take me to get to 150 martian cities is low enough that I'm willing to wait it out
