Martian city has several upgrades, once you do them all you can see on the skill tree a skill named the great beyond. You can't access it yet

I found the Wiki super vague on this topic. It says "you can end the simulation anytime” but it doesn't say if it will end itself at a given point or if it only stops when you manually end it

Until you get all the reality engine upgrades, try to stay until you can get the next one. Now that I have them all and am over 100 million metabits, I generally stay until I have a 20% increase. I'm not sure whether that's a good plan or not, but it's what I do.
