When I ended a run earlier, the game crashed and set my display resolution to 1024 x 768. No clue why. I do have dynamic rendering on if that helps.

Hm, that's weird then. Exclusive fullscreen mode actually changes the monitor resolution, borderless fullscreen just makes the window have no border and cover the entire screen and windowed mode does not affect the resolution of the screen at all.
Are your gpu drivers up to date? (Just to make sure its not related to that. Sometimes the weirdest issues arise when the drivers are a few versions behind.)
