Because of the U shape on this counter if I walk all the way up to it to interact with a trader, I'm technically outside of the interaction zone and have to take a few steps back for it to be valid.

yep that definitely needs to get fixed, thanks for the report!
I think I also see that it's offset somehow, and I think I need to create a custom collider as well so you can stand in the curved part
