holy fuckign shit the gnudam
every time i get a new kit i am going to post SO MUCH progress pics here
Haven't built it but seeing that it's an RG, it probably is
the only kit i built was a gundam hello kitty
I want
Very epic
IT'S ACTUALLY REAL?!
HOLY SHIT
it is
I WANT
bet
they have a few
i think ill order it when i get a refund for my mouse or smt
the only issue is
ive seen it has stickers
that look bad
and also
waterslide decals
i dont know how to do waterslide decals
I don't either lmao
Just be careful where you're buying it from, apparently people on amazon got shipped an action figure instead of the kit
well ik you put them in water or smt
ya im gonna order it from big seller
Nice that would be better
the only one where its in stock at a decent price anyway
Amazon also tends to overprice stuf
well its their marketplace but still
sellers in general overprice stuff if they dont have a lot of it in stock
No like, with Gundams, shit gets overpriced real a lot
💀
sexy
i never watched any gundam stuff
there is a version with blue
not sure if hte lights turn blue
but there's a specific Unicorn kit/version that the psychoframe (the glowy red part) is blue
I need a new kit
my Zaku II broke recently and i dont have any glue or anything
makes me sad
Current backlog, 2 more on the way
Going to start on the Tallgeese once I get some free weekends
Sazabi... 🤤
And the builds I have done so far
It is, a certain part of the arms apparently tends to come out sometimes but I've heard people who never had said problem
And, while some surface detail surely gives them more life, those Evangelion kits already look good straight build, decals aren't all that required
I was looking at that same kit at a gaming related store and god are they expensive
made me sad cause i love eva
Yeah, I guess it's both due to the size of the box and it being a rather known show, giving it an increase in value
Apparently it's said to be around the height of the RG Nu or RG Sazabi, right?
I havnt done too much research on it
yea its what i was worried about
i mean if i feel like it i can add them down the line
ive also seen the same kit but w a platform
idk if the transport platform really justifies the extra though
its like 17cm tall
wait no
thats with the platformm
so like maybe 15cm
🖌️ 🛩️ 🤖
so true
Personally, it doesn't, unless you really want to display it in a transport position, which is a shame, otherwise just get the standard release
can someone recommend me a good first kit
you got a budget?
cause honestly you can get a decent kit for under 20 bucks
my first kit was 13 dollars and lasted a while
until i dropped it and the arm join snapped in half
but now i just set it up to look like the arm was cut off
Honestly, any HG is a good start, find a kit you think looks interesting and I would also recommend to search for reviews on said kit, just so you can have an idea of how the articulations are, how many color correcting stickers there are, etc etc
Ok thanks
yooo, is that MG or RG QuanT?
Ah okay, I've built the uh- RG QuanT Full Saber but clear cause I got that one exclusive kit that isn't that exclusive
The hardest kit I've built, in my opinion at least, is probably the MG Nu Gundam Ver. Ka
Yeah, P'Bandai kits and what not are dumb sometimes on what they consider "exclusive"
The fuckin fin funnels are so delicately attached that it's so annoying
They are really loose right?
the slightest movement will cause all of them except the one directly attached to the backpack to fall off
Yeah, they're loose as fuck because of the way they connect
Great kit but those damn funnels
I've heard that from people of another group, not only that but for a Ver.Ka it really isn't all that good looking
I like the Ver.Ka designs for Gundams though, I like the slightly more mechanical feel they bring
Compared to the RG at least
Including the Nu Gundam, I've built 2 MGs in total
The other one being the MG Command Gundam
not
command
hjold on
it's a suit from-
BUSTER
thats what it is
Buster Gundam
man i am stoopid
yeah it was the MG Buster Gundam from Seed
I'm still debating if I want to buy a MG one day, Idunno, I just feel like MGs have very little detail compared to RGs
RGs are meant to have the same amount of detail that MG's do
They're basically MG's but 1/144
Oooohh the Buster Gundam is good, love me some on-board big weapons
Some detail is lost because smaller size but you'll have a similar build experience and/or difficulty between RG and MG
The next MG I plan on getting is the MGEX Unicorn Gundam
Aka this one
Apparently they currently have even more detail than MGs, compare the MG Nu to the RG Nu, for example
No, there's a MG, the Ver.Ka, and the RG
Some RG's have lots of detail while others feel like a more complicated HG
like RG Banshee Norn
fun build, definitely has that MG level of detail but. god it was complicated to build
Also Nu Gundam is much more of a simpler Gundam design, so
True, not only that but some joints are stiff like no other, most common thing to see posts of people who broke them in the Gunpla Reddit
yeah
this disappeared from my followed ones
there we go it's back
anyways i plan on getting the MGEX Unicorn Gundam
why does this keep getting kicked out of the list of followed threads
Your probably just unfollowing by accident
Then discords probably just being dumb again
prob
gundum
And here is another
Now all I need is the Nu, which is already in the way, and a Hi-Nu, an then I'll be done with the collection
Until Bandai releases another RG that catches my attention, that is
what r good places to buy wooden models and shit
Built the RG Tallgeese EW this weekend, gonna send some more photos once I get home, for now just the inner frame
I want a Hi-Nu eventually
hehe the tall goose
This kit is beautiful, no denying that, doesn't even need stickers all that much tho some panel lining is very much needed, extremely solid too, but God is it a nightmare to pose, the legs are way too solid to move, a lot of thing get in the way of other things, like the gun and the verniers, the side skirts and the back skirts, and don't even get me started on those supports holding the gun and the shield, I have absolutely no idea how I'm supposed to use those things
Oh yeah, and while really cool those openings in the verniers can get out of pose really easily, considerably loose
Might be a problem only mine has, it can happen sometimes
Yes, the RG
Most if not all the kits I post here are going to be RG, aside from one that isn't even from Gundam
Damn, the Wing RG's msut be pretty detailed looking and nice looking
Depends, Wing EW, Wing zero, or Wing TV.Ver?
EW
and I mean the series, not Wing itself
I bet RG Wing Zero EW (if that's a thing) is pretty damn beautiful to look at
There are 3 versions of the Wing in RG, 2 old ones, and 1 pretty new one
just a second
Wing EW
Wing zero
Wing TV. Ver
Last one is the most recent one
I like Zero EW the most tbh
I'm more fan of the TV Ver, the EW looks a bit much like uuuhh.... a toy? Idk it just doesn't really look like a robot from gundam, unlike the TV. Ver
older RG kits have a weird plastic-ish look to them sometimes
They do, that is true
Most of them really need a coat of matte varnish to look a bit better
The recent ones, like the Tallgeese, already have some kind of varnish on them sometimes, like the Tallgeese with a bit of a glossy varnish, or the God Gundam with kind of mix with matte and glossy
Not all, but some, and for a line with only 36 kits, and almost half of them are quite old, it's considerable
Ah yeah
The only RG kits i've built so far were RG Banshee Norn, Exia, and QuanT Full Saber (clear edition
)
Man, clear versions are quite nice, but God they just don't work with old RG kits
Like, the recent ones have a full inner frame and all, full of mechanical detail, it looks cool to see those details trough the clear armor parts
But the old ones? They are just a skeleton, no detail, no nothing
lmao
specifically it was the Gundam Base exclusive one, but amazon had it so
funny enough i'm pretty sure it was cheaper than the normal RG as well?
I am not sure, P-bandai and Gundam Base kits are usually ignored around here, since they are usually expensivier and, quite honestly, not all that worth it
Huh, weird.
Sometimes Amazon will carry Gundam Base exclusives and P-Bandai exclusives, but they tend to be a bit more expensive because amazon
And another one
oooh
seeing any nu gundam kit gives me ptsd though
MG Nu Gundam Ver. Ka's fin funnels
oh dont worry took me a proper 8 months or so to build my battleship
i wanna build a battle ship
there’s a model shop near me but i’ve never been in there
i was meant to paint my tank but that was too much work
mine is just all green
i made the mistake of making something with dark green parts on a dark grey carpet
i lost a few pieces
now one of the rank driver is missinn a phone
yeah I really really enjoy building stuff but not painting
I wanna buy ones but idk where from and what ones are good
dont have a chocie unless i want a completely gray battleship
i personally only know prepainted cars but im sure there are prepainted stuff for other vechicles
We do a little model building
i can never tell the difference between Freedom and Strike Freedom
but
the gold innerframe tells me that it's probably Stirke Freedom
I think the wings and inner frame are the main differences
And the head I believe too
oh
no it's not
weird
oh it's a little different
Base Freedom
Strike Freedom
Current build, bad photo because I'm tired
Oooh, is that a mix of something? I see strike, Gundam X
oh nvm
i zoomed in that's not X's backpack lol
It's the Impulse Gundam, more specifically in this case the Force Impulse
It's from Gundam SEED, and in the anime the name changes depending in the backpack it is equipped with, like Force, Sword and Blast
ah
I'm not entirely used to the Impulse, haven't watched Seed, more used to the Strike if anything
Blazing Gundam is complete!
Bought this kit yuesterday and started it last night, finished it this morning
:)
goes hard
The difference some color markers can do, Jesus
getting a barb and exia soon
feeling good.
literally picked out my christmas gifts.
Looking good
Two small problems tho, 1. Where is the panel linning on that Nu, and 2. Needs more RGs >:[
I'm kidding
Yeah I need to panel line my Nu haven’t had time to
HG MAILeS Jogan, slightly customized with markers
thats sick
Is the anime good?
I’ve never heard anything about it but the suits look cool
Kinda, I really liked the first season, not all that mind blowing or serious and heavy of a plot like Gundam, but it's good enough if you want to pass time, the fights are nice and the suits are what I call "grounded", no beam technology, no space fights, just physical bullets and some kind of heat melee weapons
The second season however, things start to decay a bit, plot starts to get bad, beam weaponry is introduced, fights are kinda meh, and some episodes feel like filler
One of the first builds?
my zaku was my first
poor thing
dudes got a severed arm and missing parts
as well as bad cuts.
you can see on the lower left leg.
as well as the feet
Oof yeah, the first kit is always the one get it worst
i still keep him on display tho
Who knows how many times I used my first as a test dummy for new things
im probably going to attempt painting on my barb
only thing i'd need to paint are the pauldrons.
or whatever theyre called
the shoulders
It would be really welcome, IBO kits got it bad when it comes to stickers
Shoulder pads? Shoulder armor?
yeah
those
but other than that
kit is really good
I'll be doing exia tomorrow
went from 16 dollar kit
forgot the grade
(zaku)
to high grade
then real.
first 3 ktis
kits
but hey
it'll be fun
maybe
You should be fine, my third kit was a RG as well
the only pain was stickers really
but as time goes on and i continue this hobby i'll get better at it
hell yeah
RG Force Impulse
And a whole bunch of photos of the build process of the RG Zeong, because goddamn is this thing's inner frame beautiful
i didn't even have to scroll all the way down to know what kit it was
zeong is so goofy
i love it
This kit is just so cool
Smol
Current project, not sure I like where this is going but it sure is going
Almost, oh so almost done with this thing, only the Finn Funnels left and then I can finally move on to the Sazabi
Been a while
I can finally return to my hobby
Bought nippers, sandpaper, cutting mat, and some tweezers
Aaaand a new kit dispite not finishing my exia.
Favorite mobile suit in all of gundam.
update a whole year and 3 months later i finally managed to order one
It’s done
Starting a new build
Are you using a ballpoint pen to paneling?
Oh I see lol
Woah wait hold on
What is that?
Probably not supposed to be a diorama, but it looks weirdly on scale
or close to
Maybe it's just my copy, but God those shoulder are annoying to pose, and the pistons inside the knee pop out a LOT
Not done but it’s a Gundam
The RG, yes
Tried to bring out more of the internal detail of the leg panels, sadly didn't work that well
Built my favorite Gundam
Finished my zeta Gundam
