Sometimes games struggle to maintain an online player base. Because of this, it might be hard to unlock new rewards. My idea is to continue obviously supporting online but to also add more support to the AI/Bot mode.
Allowing me to earn rewards from the bot/offline mode at Racco's shop. Allowing me to still be able to unlock and enjoy the content regardless if I'm playing online or not. I get the sense that this feels more like a party game than something super duper competitive. Why not just allow the unlocks to be possible in the offline modes?
Another perk of going all in on the AI/Bot modes is that this allows devs to expand upon the world/lore/story, maybe do something like Mario Kart where we have "cups" of stages at different difficulties like Bronze Cup, Silver Cup, Gold Cup, Platnium Cup, etc etc. That's what makes Nintendo games fun. I could be offline and still unlock the rewards.
Maybe completing the offline/bot mode with different characters unlocks autobiographies of these characters through blog posts/comic panels. I think there's a lot of potential here in expanding out the bot mode while also supporting the online mode as well.
But first and foremost, allowing rewards to unlock in bot mode. I'm playing the game, I'm getting better, why not be allowed to unlock them in this mode?
