Ranked in games exists for a reason. Its there for players who wanna take the game's mechanics to the next level and challange themselves further.
Its also there for the sake of the casual player.
While that doesnt stop comp players from playing casual modes. It does at least remove them from the pool of casual modes. So that way, players who just want to play the game for fun don't have to deal with someone who has leveled up their cards to max and can kill you with one headshot in the first 5 seconds.
Having a ranked mode doesnt stop fun modes from existing. but it is there to keep the game healthy. Theres a reason people still play decade old games ranked because that is their definition of fun. Climbing the skill ladder to improve at something they love.
