I think, right now at least, Spike might be one of the weaker characters in the game. A lot of the time he has to try a lot harder than the majority of the cast. Which is a shame because we all love the funny cat fella. My proposal is that we give him a buff, but have it be a double edged sword.

+13% to his weapon damage, but at the cost of -13% damage at range. This would allow him to be really powerful! But outside of obvious picks like the Albatross and Laika, he'd be a dominantly medium to short range character.

Pretty sure a lot of people feel spike is strong. He's weird because his passive doesn't feel super impactful, especially early, but once you get higher level cards, his passive allows him to hit damage threshholds to do nasty stuff.

That said, maybe something like this could improve how he feels early on without really adding any new crazy threshholds later

What about playing on the word big bullets? Let his dmg buff stay lower,make his range smaller and making his bullet hitbox bigger so it may be a good pick for people who don't have that good of an aim?

I think having a character with different damage threshholds is fun, so I personally wouldn't want the damage boost to go.

Maybe add an additional +1 flat damage to all weapons, so his damage bonus can be better felt on lower damage/lower level weapons, on top of the 8%.

Most weapon level ups already increase damage by at least 1, so it shouldn't be too ridiculous, unless it reaches some unacceptable damage threshhold

And it wouldn't affect stuff like the grenade launcher, laika, and especially the albatross enough to really meaningfully buff what he can already do with them

Shotgun already gains 3 damage per pellet going from level 1 to level 2, an extra +1 flat wouldn't be that crazy. (That said shotgun probably needs to do a little less by default anyways)

Spike is the most played character out of all of them, I think they released that statistic in a recent update
