#Quest Requirements too Strict/Difficult

There are a number of quests that require a LOT of wins, 8. Even with a 50% win rate that means up to 16 games. This is really brutal and the game shouldn't feel like a chore.

It's nice to suggest alternate play styles but getting wins shouldn't be the goal. Some players are just not as skilled and shouldn't be discouraged.

Other games like Hearthstone never have win condition quests, instead they have play x games, do x type of damage or play certain types of cards.

How many hours a week do you expect me to play this is ridiculous!!!

#

Why do we get weekly quests for cards we DON'T have if the drip feed for cards is so slow!!! I have to wait a WEEK before I have a CHANCE to get a new one?

I'm not fond of quests with specific card requirements, the game LOVES not letting me draw that card in matches when I'm trying for it

forest birch
#

I mean, I'm fine with categories of cards to play, just to force folks to use different cards but like.....we can't get XP for cards we don't own.

fathom vessel
#

Yeah categories is fine, but one specific card is a bit much

forest birch

I would be willing to say any card in the base set is fair game since you CAN deckbuild around it. Like, I don't enjoy the time slow card quest but I know it's doable because I think everyone starts with it.

It's doable, sure, but the game sure loves never letting me draw it for several matches in a row

I'm going to post a few examples of other games with daily/weekly missions in hopes the Devs might see it.

These games DON'T use victory requirements for ANY of their quests, in fact in one of the reworks for HS they removed those.

Quest Requirements too Stringent

Quest Requirements too Strict/Difficult

Changing Title for clarity and hoping folks will post in one thread vs a ton

yep that would be ideal

sand pebble
#

or maybe "do 5 kills with throwables"

#

that's still pretty ez but not too much

fathom vessel
#

pass, use x throwables is much better

sand pebble
#

probably

#

we can also have missions like "do [...] damages with any special weapon"

#

no too bad

#

i suppose

See i posted about this exact thing but under different wording, but people were like "well no actually there needs to be a lot of progress for weeklies quests to keep people playing" but if you require something like 40 game wins in a week you're asking for people to get burnt out by the time next week's weeklies drop in

We'd love to hear more feedback on the quests; there's certainly a balance to be struck between too demanding and too easy.

To provide some context, in your example about winning 10 games, keeping in mind that the average game lasts around 3-4 minutes, that might then take roughly 40 minutes to complete. You'd also likely be able to complete other quests in tandem - making for a reasonable amount of time to complete your dailies if you're actively playing.

Dailies should not take several hours to complete; and we'll certainly be monitoring data and feedback on this and tune as we go. Please keep the feedback coming!

I'm going to post something from the Steam Forums just for context:

This is bonkers and doesn't even acknowledge how the game works.

Let's say you have a 25 card deck minimum. Let's say you're bad at games, tragically so, but will always win the round where you get the card you need to meet the requirement.

This means over three rounds, you draw a total of 12 cards, you still have a less than 50% chance of drawing the card. If you lose every match. Your odds do go up to 72% if and only if you make it to round 5 every time.

For example, there's the Zombies quest up there for a weekly - 15 brain shots. On average I'd have to play at minimum 31 games, and then this assumes I will always hit. You want me to play this game for 2.5 hours every week.

Its better for people to have less to do before the end of a week than play so much they wont want to play for the whole of next week

fathom vessel
#

yeah the way quests are now it's just going to burn people out

jade dew
#

This game has me feeling burnt out after an hour-ish of playing, and while that's mostly just a me issue its not too far removed to assume other people could get tired of it quick

fathom vessel
#

same, trying to do quests has already burned me out a bit

forest birch
#

I played the beta, and I had infinite more fun when all the cards were just available at the start

To the people who naysayed my suggestion to lower weekly requirements yesterday, you're all insane and/or have no irl obligations keeping you from playing all the time

forest birch
#

The card packs are just a dumb design to carrot on a stick us and I'm not having it. I can't recommend this game to any of my friends because it's like "Oh no yeah you have to grind for 12 hours but then you get some REALLY good cards"

fathom vessel
#

there are too many games that require you to no-life them

#

please don't make this another one

I'd be less angry abt it if we got mercy rares every pack

#

But opening dupe after dupe is so disheartening

sand pebble
#

and rng is, to my view, the point of the game
you cant play a deck building basic game if you have every cards on the start, that's a basic to get new ones throught packs

the invincble quest needs to go its unreasonable to expect a player to avoid all damge the way the games designed you can just take damge from a card being played at the beinging of the round and theres nothing you can do to stop it

fathom vessel
#

the invincible quest should not exist, period

#

opponent played poison? gg

leaden bison
#

yeah i litterly can only hope the opponents are that bad my friend can 1 v 2 them

#

which is not how a game should work
