I’m very new, and I suck. I’m still trying to get a handle on controlling the puck and shooting. I just got placed silver 3, but within my first 10 games, at least one player on my team has been an absolute fuckin demon of a player. And without fail every single game, they start bitching and moaning at me that I don’t know what I’m doing and that I suck etc etc. what’s the deal? Are all high level players such raging pussies? I really enjoy the game but the consistent bitching is really off putting. Am I getting unlucky getting matched up with these people or are they smurfs or something? Never experienced this much complaining in a game before

Just a small, toxic player base. There are good ones out there too, but the bad eggs definitely ruin it sometimes, I wish there was a mute function or something. Even if you get better people will still flame you
Just try to enjoy the game, ignore the whiny babies, and hopefully you can find some nicer players who you can play with and learn from

pilot: most of the time you're probably getting people who are just a little bit better than you, but that's enough to look a lot better. Though sometimes matchmaking decides to allow absurd matchups. Probably not many smurfs.
As for toxicity, it doesn't seem to get much different at any level. The characters do change a little bit, less of the useless player that talks shit, more of the inflated ego that has no teamwork unless his entire team is better than him.

FR? It's coherent, self-aware, and grammatically impeccable. Lots of venting posts are written like a middle school assignment complaining about bad teammates. This guy's experience is spot on: at every level there are players with more skill stuck at the level and blaming everybody else or being toxic in other ways. Asking "does it get better" is a very valid question
