A big problem I have (and maybe many other players, not fully sure though) is the limitations of obtaining grey gear for rift mythic gear progression.
Yes, you get your odd few equipment pieces in the astellan shops, but if you’re for example, trying to get your mythic sword up, you get only 2 commons from shops a week, and then you have to pray to God Almighty (and maybe Oshian while I’m at it) that the roaming monster chests I just got, give me the particular weapon/armour piece I need.
So how to counteract it? Two options.
A) Brokkr will give you a new option in the Dwarven Foundry, you can de-craft (or smelt, whatever Brokker wants to call it) a weapon of higher rarity into the same amount of lower rarity items it would take to craft it and gold coins. For example, if I had all my rare weapon pieces needed to upgrade a mythic weapon for that level, I could go, use any rare weapon, and turn it into 3 common/grey weapons of the same type. The higher the rarity of item smelted/de-crafted, the more gold it would cost. (I got inspiration about this from the merchant in game who you can give more common ores and gold to make better ores)
B) A merchant that you can buy some more grey weaponry/armour. Personally I prefer option A, it has far more flexibility and also just makes sense Lore wise than some dude in the Realm of Fire selling only grey equipment (although I wouldn’t complain if both were added.)
I just think it would be a phenomenal QOL feature that would help speed up progression. People would of course want to progress faster in the rift, especially if a new rift difficulty were to ever come out.
I think the De-craft especially would be really useful for that type of progression people want.
BTW, I don’t know if anyone else came up with this idea before me but if you did, sorry, I thought about this idea myself and wanted to write it before I forgot about it 😅
Sorry for the holy yap session, thank you for reading and have a good day 🙏
