Straight up. We need more tools in game to manage. I need some better in-game message board or sticky msg abilities, more tools for managing players, I need more information on my knights- who’s doing what, past game info per player like contribution to bosses, GW stats.. more than just they completed some weekly player stats.

If you’re going to charge us $5, $15, $20 or more per guild war.. approximately what, $500 per guild per war for competitive guilds? just to be competitive in this silly game? and want us to take this as seriously as yall are at squeezing money out of us.. you have to better equip us.

And for the love of god, please add another level to the hierarchy of a guild. Member, officer, co-leader is becoming useless in a sea of verifying, potential players who half the time show up for 3 weeks and dip out in the middle of these damn wars.

I’ll make this point, Midoki. Yes it’s just a game, a game you want us to continuously pour our money into. As a mid-level guild who has routinely placed in the top 100 globally, I have to juggle competitive players and casual players simultaneously, because we don’t really have the draw for a full on squadron of mercenaries who can easily go to top tier guilds. In the same way, I don’t want to push my long time, awesome casual players out either… because they are awesome and also I’d have a dead guild.
So, better tools will help me run a better guild. which in turn creates better atmospheres for various types of players, which means you have more people consistently feeding your money machine. Because I’ve been somehow consistently placing high and loosing players because of lack of interest and incentive.
Do you see the dilemma?
Help us help you.

I definitely appreciate that some people really love guild wars but this is honestly a very niche part of the player base. Midoki spent about a year doing nothing but build guild wars, which was obviously a cash grab from the beginning and has obviously been a huge drain on resources that caused other new content to dwindle significantly.

I really feel for you and have sympathy for the folks who really loves guild wars, but continuing to build out that mode should be completely deprioritized in favor of other improvements.

I don’t love guild wars, but if we have no choice but to participate, help us out.

I’d bet that at least 60% of the revenue generated by this game comes from guild wars. These companies exist to make money, unfortunately, and not make things we want. If that were the case they would be releasing all sorts of great content throughout the year and that almost never happens.

So make the things that make you money, better.

Quick math- four guilds of 25 each = 100 players. If half of those players buy the war order package and the war line pass, that’s $20 dollars US per player(who purchases). So let’s say 50 ppl pay that $20, that’s $1,000 per war matchup.. and that’s conservative af.. I’ve been in several wars where each guild was buying those packs. So let’s say 50 of the top 100 guilds pull those numbers. Thats $50k per war… at what? 4 wars per year. Somewhere around 200 thousand dollars a year- in just guild wars.
That may not be huge money for game development in general, but damn. If I was running the show I’d be looking for ways to keep that stream on income flowing and get the other 50% of guilds/ players to want to toss into that pot.

I’m also aware it’s global, so there’s varying currencies which don’t all add up- as I’ve tried to buy passes for some of my guys and actually can’t 😬 cause the game won’t process it. And the numbers I posted are super loose. But its frames it up.. guild wars generates a lot of cash for this game.

I’m really not worried about Midoki’s focus on monetizing the game.

I think that the fact that you “don’t love” GW for a lot of very sensible reasons is just more evidence that the mode is not a good fit for the game overall and shouldn’t be an area of continued focus.

I think you’re missing the point, unless you know something about the game that we don’t. Guild wars isn’t going anywhere as it makes them a lot of money therefore… make it function better… and they’ll make more money. So it serves both the customer and the business. I’m also not necessarily talking about specific to GW, better tools will help manage the guild in general. Most of my guild isn’t on discord, so messages get lost in the mix, there’s lots of small functions that would be a great upgrade for the community.

If they had something really great tee’d up that would replace or add a new function to the game, I’d agree with you as to put effort and resources elsewhere. Like something to fill that “coming soon!” Blank space that’s been on the homepage since 2019, but I won’t hold my breath.

I don’t think it is at all clear that adding more features to guild wars will result in making that mode more profitable.

We really need more tools, especially for the GWs, there are many other threads that mention this.

I don’t think that more tools and more transparency will hurt the playerbase - quite the contrary. It is up to guild leaders to decide whether they want to run a casual guild or a more competitive one. Maybe allow insight to those statistics to leaders and co-leaders only (GB participation, War effort in terms of glory and orders used and wasted and lumber), but to them only to avoid lower-titled or untrusted players to abuse that info for whatever reason.

The ideas are abundant here, if only Midoki inserted some of these amazing ideas into the roadmap and communicated to us about it, that would be great.
