Top 5 seems about right to me. Idk about snoop personally. I feel like Drake has to have spot there. Iytitl was i think one of his best critically received albums rap wise. But I feel like NWTS and Take Care were still more relevant pop culturally. Then again aside from sales I don't remember people really ever solidifying Drake as the best. He really valued charts and sales over hiphop and moved more into pop.

Also I will never understand Future. Maybe it's more for ppl who are in club settings or group settings cause I could not sit and just listen to Future alone.

Drakes biggest problem was he was never perceived as universally liked at any point. He got hate for being a singer rapper(this was his best artistic style imo), having a silver spoon, ghostwriter, culture vulture, pdfile. Like all the other guys, their negative news increased their notoriety in a good way but Drakes were too much of a hit PR wise to ever be liked universally despite being played everywhere.

New Weeknd album is interesting. I feel like this album isn't trying to be commercially popular. Songwriting feels more poetic, emotional and vulnerable than other releases. A lot less explicit lyrics as well. It really hits different. Like it might be his most artistic album ever.

a lot of songs seem to have a theme of him seeing his own end

This was incredible. I had some reservations about Kendrick accepting this show considering he's about the Culture and how little the NFL and the big portion of NFL fans cared about stuff like BLM.

The performance changed my mind. I like that he went on their turf and basically said we're here, we're American and we're black, deal with it.

SZA actually stole the show a bit but I know he expected that.

I heard some say they couldn't understand what he was saying which I don't blame them. The mic wasn't as clear as it couldve been and if it's your first time, it's probably hard to hear/understand what he's rapping.

Anybody have any good recommendations for good new hiphop albums? I feel like it's getting harder to find stuff i like cause rap scene is evolving. Like who are the next j.cole and kendricks? I tried this artist Cozz and one of his tracks had a Cole feature. He sounded like an amateur compared to Cole. Denzel, Mick Jenkins, Smino, Saba, Isaiah I've already gone through. They are good but who else is out there.
