Kendrick's was more engaging despite forcing you to sit through Future's incessant mumbling. Cole's felt like you could check out at the end of any verse and pull a fantano (jump to conclusion) moment, the second half was more of my speed.

I think Cole needs to stop comparing himself to Kendrick. Very big difference in how they approached their music. The topics and themes Kendrick covered has made every single release culturally significant for black americans. Meanwhile Cole while having talent and skill has focused on relatable storytelling, wordplay and good replay value. They arent in the same realm and unless he does what he does on a level that nobody has seen before and changes the game, he's not gonna hold up to Kendrick.

But I enjoyed the release and am happy we have motivated Cole, just hoping Fall Off is legendary

It's really difficult, when I listen to Kendrick, I get tired of Drakes work. But vice versa when I'm in mood for less heavy topics and more replayable tracks I favor drakes discography more. Like the thing about drake is he was legit the soundtrack for most ppl in my generation since he had so many hits. If Kendrick is a 5 star meal, Drake is like an all you can eat buffet. Lot of variety and can listen to as much as you want. Although I get in some moods where I can listen to Kendrick on replay as well. Section 80 has some of my favourite classic tracks.
