Listen sometimes there isn't much going on in following
Also it switches tab automatically pretty regularly when loading it up
To me there isn't that many maga accounts on the fyp
Actually I've seen one once and that's about it
But that's because it's infested with cringe kpop fans since I've only been using the kpop alt
that just means you log off hahaha
My dog is stupid. She doesn’t eat unless we tell her too, and if we’re eating she won’t eat, and if we’re watching TV she won’t eat. If we go near the kitchen she won’t eat.
Little dumbass is an attention hog
Like legit. I have to shake the bowl in front of her nose and tell her to eat and she looks at me all pouty
But I know she’s hungry cause she hadn’t eaten for 12+ hours cause she left her food for breakfast alone until I told her to eat at 3 pm
I just told her to eat and she finished her cup of dog food in a minute
Hmmm maybe you should set up alarms for yourself throughout the day as reminders to tell her to eat?
Well, I get home around 3 pm and she doesn’t eat from the automatic feeder
I’m able to tell her to eat when it’s the weekends but she won’t do it herself
I haven’t but I’m pretty sure that’ll scare the shit out of her
I’ll have to try it out
Thanks 🙏
they're really into calling everything a psy-op right now huh
Your first mistake was not having that account blocked tbh
Psy-Op sounds like a game from the Splinter Cell series
Hmm is this an argument “red pulled men make themselves so fucking stupid and mysoginistic it automatically makes people gravitate towards feminism”?
a reach.
one could say they are inversely correlated, but that's playing into what the writer is trying to say based on personal experiences from spewing shit takes. Throwing themselves into deniers and agreers that also can't do more than the same typing exercise
no internet
no ideology arguments
just floor, sunshine, and smiles
and we have the nerve to call it dumb.
Dogs are cool creatures. I see why they are appreciated
I reserve the right to call her dumb. Every time we play fetch, she just chases the ring until it stops and then stares at me until I run over and throw it again
And she won’t eat her food either!
At this point I’m wondering if she’s not hungry or she just doesn’t want to eat
Look at this fool
I had to resend it cause apparently my thighs are explicit content
I’m a dude so idrc
smart dog makes you fetch. Smart dog makes you move
Dumb dog barks at neighbor’s dogs through fence and gets scared and just lies there with her tail between her legs even though she was the one who wanted to bark at two dogs twice her size
Like this dog is so dumb that she’s not even supposed to be on this chair right now but here she is
The only thing this dog excels at is being sassy
Like omfg this dog is the sassiest mofo I’ve ever met
Like she barks at us when she wants to play and then we point at her toy and tell her to get it, then she looks at us like
until we’re forced to retrieve it
that's a clever monkey
And when she was a puppy in her teething phase, we would tell her to stop chewing things (socks, rug, human, ball, furniture, wall) and then she’d give us that same frickin look and keep going
And sometimes when you look at her straight in the face, you can see her eyes drift apart
You can just hear her singular brain cell just pinging around in her skull
You know what
I think she doesn’t want to eat because she knows that we’re gonna start making food around noon and would rather have human food
clever dummy

it's the Teixeira dude that leaked it in Minecraft server as well apparently
they were in there for a while but it got discovered once it got on a more public server which was the Minecraft one they just announced that he posted on a War Thunder one as well just recently
We didn't mention this in the NYT piece, but this Discord server is for... War Thunder. Should have known from the start that Teixeira would start posting the classified leaks in a War Thunder server.
(WaPo mentioned this in their new piece on Teixeira from today)

it's on NYT though so the article is behind a paywall
I just wanna point out that hearing a lot of US people say the name Teixeira so often because of this has been both funny and painful
not again
I have been wondering,
We had Siri in 2011, does that counts as early AI?
Cause I've been seeing the clips of the Google CEO and it's obvious he used the word AI alot in that keynote, as like it almost implies that's what they have been only been focusing on
But Apple had Siri since 2011 but I do not see a breakthrough in Siri for...years? Maybe I am in a bubble.
Well Google is trying to compete with Chat GPT now
Apple just doesn't seem seem to be super interested on this yet
Felt like this is the moment they have to strike
I mean you want the entire world to use iPhones, amirite?
(pls no)
They're pretty much (what I consider) the king of integration
Don't remember seeing them trying to push any marketing towards AI language models recently
Sure they added more AI features on iphone but that's mostly stuff relating to images afaik, the tap+hold to isolate a subject from the background, etc
But for now it's mostly Google trying to compete since they've been doing their AI thing for a while
apple hasn't really touched ai much
i wouldn't call siri ai just because it's not really intelligent
Huh
I think it's just an early form of AI
it was 2011, at that point of time it's pretty remarkable what it can do
The dumbest timeline returns
"Hot food is hot!"
Hot food will burn your kid if you let the hot food be pressed against their skin for over 2 minutes
great parenting
Unbelievable that shit like this even gets into court in the first place
Now McD will have to print warning labels on all their food explaining that hot food is indeed hot
C'mon now, without this lawsuit we wouldn't be able to tell that hot things are hot
Bad parenting being rewarded annoys me so fucking much

This isn't even like that hot coffee case where the coffee was indeed way too hot. They're claiming that 1 specific nugget out of 32 was too hot while all the others were fine
Which is just not how anything works
“The Chicken McNuggets inside of that Happy Meal were unreasonably and dangerously hot (in terms of temperature),” and caused her “skin and flesh around her thighs to burn,” the complaint alleged, leaving her “disfigured and scarred.”
seems pretty obvious this nugget was fresh from the fryer and probably still wet with fryer oil, because thats the only way this happens
thats a failure on mcdonalds part
It fell on her lap, and it got stuck between her and the seatbelt
The mom took 2 minutes to take the thing off
This. And it got stuck there for 2 minutes with the mother ignoring her child screaming in pain
That's just bad parenting, don't let your baby with hot food on their own lol
Cool it down or something, that's what parents usually do
Any hot food you tightly press to your skin will cause burns, it doesn't need to be "dripping in frying oil" or whatever
If at least they had claimed all the nuggets were too hot it would maybe a different story, but one specific one out of 32 is just not possible. They all get prepared together
They're also general prepared to a standard etc fried in a certain temperature for a certain time and they should be safe for consumption
They're not safe to be pressed against someone's skin for 2 minutes tho
I just don't bite the part where it took 2 wholeass minutes for the mom to do anything about it
Sounds like a skill issue to me
just be a better parent
Parenting is hard enough as is, people shouldn't be blamed for not being perfect 24/7
True, but at the sametime they can't blame their fuckups (which are fine, it happens) on some company
I think there is a reason a jury with way more information than us tought it was to blame though
Sure, a convincing lawyer
It's not like you can still actually prove how hot the nugget was
I hate the big megacorp fast food chain too but yeah idk about this one

lol they're removing original content only available on their platform, excellent move Disney!
not that most of these are worth a damn but still, more reasons to justify pirates and their actions I guess.
As somebody famously said https://www.gamesradar.com/gabe-newell-piracy-issue-service-not-price/
Netflix almost managed it, when almost everything was available there.
But now there are literally dozens of 'original content' streaming platforms, and subscribing to even a handful ends up costing as much if not more than what fully loaded cable packages used to cost 10+ years ago.
Can you imagine if music streaming was like that? Exclusive original content on each one lol
yeah it's literally cable again
maybe then artists would get paid more than the dirt they get from Shitify
Actually they most definitely would
Due to exclusivity deals
There's a nice short book called 24/7 - Late Capitalism and the ends of sleep that discusses this very question
Well, not really. Cable you used to pay one bulk sum and get it all. This is getting worse than cable.

tf how did they found it
This kinda stuff is public and easily accessible. While I've never heard of that site til yesterday, outlets like TMZ have people basically living in Los Angeles court houses so they can be the first to break the news about a celebrity.
that is true. Media people like self invitation
Almost all legal/court documents that are not sealed or in secret courts are publicly available if you know where to look and what to look for. And that's on top of the fact that almost all court hearings are open to the public.
And a lot of the things not openly available you can request access to.
news media and tabloids almost have it down to an art now lol

it was mad annoying having to install a whole new app on every device too
i love when companies do their best to make piracy even more common
Thing is, you can't even really blame them for simply enforcing what has always been technically the rule.
What i blame them for is not releasing content to match the pricepoint
Well Netflix themselves actually did actually show support for account sharing through different social media posts through the years...when they had no competition
Now things aren't looking too good
Both content wise and money wise with how fractured everything is
It's a shame, really. Pirating sucks, it's so cumbersome.
It's just very inconvenient
Rip countries with bad home wifi but good cellular
Click, download, watch on media player of choice ... VERSUS ... sign up for account, download app or go to site on browser, sign in, pay monthly, not find the content you were looking for, sign up for another service, pay monthly, find content you want, but it buffers and never offers max quality that the download would have, always online access only, limited to what devices you can access, different features on different devices and on app vs. browser ...
And that's not to mention locality limited content.
I don't know, piracy is pretty convenient when access to copyright legal services is problematic.
It also acts as a great way to archive content that are temporary in nature on streaming platforms (look at how many streaming services have come and gone, with exclusive content disappearing after).
The features availability is my biggest problem right now with several of these services. Dolby Vision content is only accessible with certain subscription tiers and on certain apps only. Same for some HDR10/HDR10Plus content.
Browsers for example never offer those.
Some TV apps never get updated.
find legitimate pirate site that isnt just a virus filled shithole
buy a vpn because otherwise the copyright holder will find you in the swarm and your ISP will send you a letter. that happens multiple times youre fucked
hope your desired show has enough seeds
piracy is a pain in the ass to anyone who isn’t already balls deep in it
It's not anywhere that straightforward. It's not like back in the day when no one could track shit of what you were watching and downloading (and no, VPNs don't help much when your ISP cooperates directly with whoever is seeking out them pirates). And that's putting aside that any site offering pirated content will be riddled with malware, viruses, bad quality uploads etc.
The golden age of internet piracy is long gone, really
That seems like a skills issue, and often very untrue. It just sounds like one hasn't done it for so long they have fallen off the path to do it without all the associated issues.
as for ddl or streaming pirate sites, good luck. they’re usually just as filled with shit trying to break your computer. if you meed a subreddit to put together a list of safe sites to pirate from, piracy is not convenient
the issue is mostly with finding a trustworthy source of pirated content
ThAt SEems LIKE A SKIlLS ISSUe, right
Bugger off, really
even if this is the case, youre basically implying you need to be current with piracy to do it conveniently. so how does that help a literal generation that grew up without piracy
If it requires you to have some experience and knowledge about piracy and where to get stuff then it isn't really convenient
It's a service issue, if subscriptions go out of control, which they are, and streaming services no longer offer access convenience, people will find other ways.
If somebody wants to learn, there's nobody gatekeeping the methods.
A whole generation not being accustomed to piracy thing only applies to the most privileged of countries and populace, and not generalized to all zoomers. And that doesn't really apply to any of the 4 in this conversation I imagine lol.
Pirating is great but I prefer less random porn if I wanna watch something
The issue her is not even a skill barrier or availability, the issue is you calling it a convenient option, which it isn't and never again will be
How was piracy more convenient in the past?
This isn't the time of limewire or kazaa anymore, it sounds more like being outdated.
the pirate bay was actually safe, for one
You went on piratebay, downloaded a torrent and had what you wanted
And there was no malware on there
And no one ever tracked you
So yeah
Now that sounds like rose colored nostalgia glasses. PirateBay even before the crackdowns was always filled with malware.
It was way more convenient
Even if one doesn't go the private tracker route, sites like rarbg and 1337x are openly available with properly sorted content that won't lead you to download malware.
but you do need a good paid vpn
they still have some false uploads
We're not talking about the actual files you download, we're talking about the site itself sending a constant barrage of malware at you just by you being there
Now post crackdown piratebay is a different story because they had to switch servers and it became worse and worse with each iteration
When was the last time you browsed the net without an adblocker or scriptblocker of some sort? Even the youngest of Gen Z probably uses them nowadays, or their browsers come with it standard and on default.
You can count successful prosecutions of individuals for personal use copyright infringement with regards to RIAA and MPAA content on two hands in the United States. Plenty of free VPNs work as well, or just don't use public torrents if that's an option one wants to pursue, which certainly isn't as convenient admittedly
But that is a mostly local issue, in very specific jurisdictions in the US and in Europe, but not a widespread problem.
never use a free vpn lol
Free VPNs pretty much all severely limit the rate at which you can download or just straightup forbid torrents
free vpns also just sell you out when someone comes knocking
Ye
So do paid VPNs.
not the good ones
The only way you're not being sold out by your VPN is if you are paying for the hosting yourself, and setup your own OpenVPN or WireGuard connection, and if the feds are persistent enough, there's nothing they can't find on you, which you probably already know. But how many people in general are important enough for the fancier tools to be used on them because they downloaded a movie or tv series 'illegally'?
so with all this being said, do you think the common person understands this convo and can easily do this
This post was sponsored by NordVPN!
hizvpn when
it's called snekvpn for only 3€ a month
ok but that money cant go to fund your gacha addiction
The common person doesn't have to worry about any of this, only the cautious and paranoid do, which to be fair applies to at least those in this conversation. 5 minutes on r/privacy's megathread, a couple of attempts, and they'll barely ever have problems, and access to all the content they ever want.
I'm not saying don't use streaming services, but imo it is disingenuous to say it is more convenient given all the limitations of the apps and browser access, the number of services and apps with fractured content across all of them, quality of the streaming buffered, the payments to various services, no real centralized search mechanism to find what you want, etc. versus just finding the content you want and downloading it.
I subscribe to multiple myself, but I still find that I have to download some of the content directly to avoid the issues that the streaming platform WITH the content I want presents.
Like the mentioned DV/HDR and bitrate buffering issues.
yeah but the point was that you were saying that piracy is easy to do and we are saying it isnt.
I said it is convenient, but I suppose easy is implied. Then we simply disagree on the simplicity of access aspect of it.
Everything has a learning curve, and assessing one versus the other is a matter of perspective without benchmarks or references.
I offered my perspective, which was then expanded to specifically a very tech illiterate younger generation, on which point I mostly disagree. Gen Z aren't remotely as incompetent as they are portrayed to be, and the learning curve for downloading content is not as convoluted as it is being described either.
ok
Arguably once the setup for a streaming service is done, it is easily way more convenient than pirate sites. You just added a lot of steps to make the process seem cumbersome
Let me try doing that for your preferred method of consumption
- Search the show you want on google
- Click on a link for the show/episode you want
- Click x on 12 different pop ups and navigate shitty UI
- Click on video
- Close scammy website page that opened when you clicked on the video (repeat 10 times minimum)
- Video plays
- Video happens to be a still image advertising what site to watch it from (equally bad)
- Go to google
- Repeat
And if you tell me “get ad block” than that’s arguably the same amount of set up as downloading Netflix and making an account
I won’t advocate for piracy, but in the end, depending on your experience it may be just as convenient as Netflix, albeit not legal
i get the idea that once you're familiar with piracy and where to actually find stuff without much hassle it can be pretty easy
but again that requires you to know what you're doing
Which is arguably more difficult than just paying for a streaming service and setting up an account
which more often than not is purely trial and error until you find a decent place where you can find stuff
but hey, free
if you're just an average joe it's much easier to just sign up for whatever service instead of searching for pirated content
If enough people buy
And besides, netflix offers you like 3 months free or like 7 days trial
Just watch what you wanna watch in those days and cancel subscription
Ez

You know this isn't just limited only to lenses because I've had it happen in other markets but man it's kind of annoying whenever I post something for sale and I get a message and the message is just asking me if the price is firm
For the person will ask me like oh is that the best you can do
Like bro what do you think this is
Yeah random stranger on the internet I've never talked to a day in my life I'll go ahead and give you $500 off just because I think you're nice
Person responds after I tell them yeah the price is not changing saying oh well there is another one that's in better condition for the same price I'm like okay why don't you just go by theirs then 🤣
Already selling this lens for a really good price and people are like nah I need more of a discount
I've come to realize that maybe it's a psychological thing that if you price something too well that people think you're desperate to get rid of it or something so they will try to lowball you even more
Did you highlight in bold and italic "FIXED PRICE"?
I actually have done that before and I still had people lowballing me
That is actually my biggest annoyance as people wasting my time I'll like have people sometimes request more photos acting super interested and I'm like yeah sure
Go out of my way take photos of certain things about like a lens that they wanted
They will respond like the next day and be like oh well can you give me it at this price
People just can't read I guess kek
Just ask for more then lowball it to the price you actually wanna sell for

They'll still ask for it to be cheaper tho
That's what I've done before too actually
Mfs rather offer like their daughters hand in marriage than paying the requested price
It wouldn't sell and then I'd raise the prices and people would dm me like wtf
I up to started telling people if I kept getting lowballed I'd just raise the price and hit them with the fomo
Actually worked a few times
People act like car salesman on this website and it's so cringe
Like I had the 200 mm f2 I decided to sell it because it just was inconsistent with focus and that lens was selling for $4,200 on eBay
if I can find a similar listing
I posted on this website for like $3,600 or something because that's what I got it for and I was like hey I'm just trying to get what I paid for it and I had people messaging me like oh it doesn't go for that price it goes for $3,000 meanwhile I checked one that sold on eBay like a day prior and it went for $5,000 and I'm like I don't know where you guys are getting your sources from
People asking for pics is kinda funny like bro if you're committed to buying this kinda thing you should probably know
Then I just raised the price to $4,000 and he got pissed off
Lmao
Rose you gotta do it like the photocard sellers do
Look at the copwriting

gotta throw lowball = blocked in there or something
I don't know that person that bought it for $6,200 is kind of an idiot to be on us
Like it's pretty easy to get that lens for around $3,500
But I'm also not going to sit here and sell it for $3,000 that's just weird
I kind of have to imagine what these people that the only reason they do it is because people actually have said yes and if that's the case then like I can't really blame them for trying either
You never know unless you ask etc
I've heard just casual conversations between videographers and they casually bring out like a 12k dollar Panavision lens in the coffee talk
it's like ARRI
Yeah any expensive equipment will have people lowballing a lot
And offering whatever tf else instead of the asked price

gotta love paying INT_MAX for a horse

Google decided to release new TLDs (top level domains) which are the variations to .com (.net, .gg, .ca, etc.). And these new TLDs are .zip and .mov. Now a website like fortniteburger.zip sounds pretty cool, but it really just gives scammers another tool to trick people into clicking onto malicious links.
And when I mean malicious, I mean it. I...

shorts are their version of tiktok
yeah yt stories were barely ever used
didn't know yt stories were a thing lol
video that disappears that won't get ad revenue. and I guess only way to know if one was posted is if you had a notification for it.
I stopped using YT notifications years ago and had started a Twitter account because it was better notification than YT
it only showed up in your sub feed on mobile

Man, Elon deleting our auto-translation button really is rather annoying
Not a huge deal on desktop, but super annoying on mobile
Well, he hasn't said anything, but a whole Google translate API doesn't just magically vanish
Honestly probablly just didn't pay his bills to Google if I had to guess
Probably removed the translate feature in favor of implementing som new useless Twitter Blue feature
Twitter blue users get priority on the neuralink human tests
Elon Musk airdropping Dogecoin memes into my brain after the neuralink implant
you won’t need a translate feature once elon puts the language chip in our brains
The future of photography is “lens-free”
This is an incredible project by @BjoernKarmann
The camera creates a prompt based on the geo data and that then turns into an AI photo 🤯
26516
3788
Why
Why are technophiles
I will say that this at least a million times better than sitting on your fat ass at home and typing prompts into some art AI
You're still out there getting your shots after all
Now, as to why you'd do this over just taking a regular photo idk, but hey
Because it's AI
I dare say in this particular case the focus is not on the AI
It's on that weird contraption that holds it
Cause the AI really is just there to process the data and show a result, not to do anything to it
I wonder if AI will ever be able to invent some sort of shape that can be attached to some sort of axel so we can revolutionize transportation
I mean, the idea is still that it's AI powered™
It's not though. The idea is that it's lens free.
at least it's one of the somewhat interesting uses of it i guess
Because it's AI powered
On the tweets it's very much being received as an AI focused thing
Sure, because people make it about that when it's not
Cause AI is the current hot topic
I think it's an interesting project
But it's definitely not the future of photography™
I went to the inventors thread, the camera is just a gimmick. All the thing actually does is get your location data, along with weather conditions to generate an AI image. You can go to the man's website and try it for yourself
This is the "picture" I took from inside my classroom
Pointing at the chair in front of me
It said "I will generate a 16°C slightly foggy São Paulo picture"
And it did
Lol
No one pretending it is, really
Well... it is geocaching data, which I guess doesn't work particularly well indoors
I imagined it would generate at least a woodland picture
Because campus is forested
I mean, are there any woodlands where you are rn?
It just catches the data to create a prompt that anyone can type out i think
From what it looks like at least
It's just a convoluted way of generating a prompt and running it through midjourney
Yeah, the campus is just a big park
The generated picture looks more like downtown or across the river from the campus
Yeah, exactly
The "camera" device seems to be there just to add some layer of authenticity to it
Like hey i actually went in this place, and instead of just typing the prompt, my camera did for me :o
Well, could you build and program a camera that does that?
i wonder what wheel call it
I'm not shitting on the capabilities of that developer
Idk shit about programming
Just like most AI people don't know shit about art, and that's fine

Yeah
Also gotta remember that violent extremists from the left are just as bad as those from the right since their targets usually are not specifically nazis

I don't think that's Arin

That is indeed Arin
Hmm, I wonder if eventually there will be something like LiDAR photography. Make 3D photos and AI to process the data into an actual picture
there probably already exists something like that, but if we’re able to use something like that, theoretically we could make whole AR photographs where you’re able to walk around inside the photo
Well, hopefully we’d be able to get to a high enough quality it doesn’t end up looking like the metaverse lol
something like that will come in time
sure these ai bros on twitter are cringe but its mostly just the linkedin grifter type switching over to twitter
dunking on the tech doesnt make sense since none of this shit even existed a year or two ago, all tech sucks when its first being developed
The only thing I’ll dunk on is the people thinking that this is the future of art and is using it as an excuse to lay off all their artists and replace it with piss poor quality work
That’s already happened for a mobile game recently iirc
And that one dude who won an art competition by submitting an AI work
people spend way too much time getting upset about dumb shit grifters on twitter say
Yeah ofc
Ah man I realized I misread your comment lol
Yeah
Tech advances fast as hell
I wouldn’t be surprised if the technology with the LiDAR photo AI thing would come out within the next 5 years
it wouldnt even surprise me if epic had something like that in the works for unreal engine
Wait for hyper hyper realistic graphics for the next AAA game
With your GTX 6080 lol

Next thing you know, the metaverse doesn’t look like crap and you can’t tell whether or not you’re in your office or your home in VR
you're telling me we're not in a simulation?
it'd be a pretty shit one if it was in all honesty

I'm sure the product will be good
but death stranding for mac os
Just super overpriced
Of course it’s gonna be good
yeah idont think they'll sell all that well
this isnt really being aimed at the professional market
VR stuff doesn't sell that well
^^^
and it costs like, 10% of what the average american makes.
But people are still gonna buy it for the apple clout
per year
this whole thing screams "we spent way too fucking much making this that we have no choice but to release it"
People aren't really gonna buy this as much, overall VR stuff just doesn't sell that much
Pretty niche market
And a lot of those Americans still have the brand new 1k phone, some have the coolest 3k shoes
People will spend money on it
iphoens get heavily subsidized
VR isn’t that popular, but Apple will still make a profit off this
Guess the huge markup apple tax is there to compensate for the investment
Wait why are we talking about unnecessary spendings
Since they know less people will buy it
We’re a kpop server for god sake

bro VR bro just work from home
there's no games
yes games thats what i said
like hell

Yeah most VR games are on windows
i'm gonna wear a headset for 3 hours to watch something or do work
it makes no sense
lets be real, ive Meta cant get the quest to take off and that thing is like $400, vr is just not going to take off at all
Did they explicitly state that it wasn’t able to do games?
Or does it have no controllers
Holy heck
and watching shit
It's also apple, there's no games on that platform
Metaverse
sam just sad he can't play miku tap tap in augmented reality
Me when I tried downloading trackmania the other day
I JUST WANNA HUG HER

vr has a pretty specific niche and requires more than just the headset
it ends up being pretty expensive
meta quest is all in one
not powerful like having a dedicated PC but it gets the job done
true
and if the attachment rate were higher than more games would be developed for it
plus it also can plug into a gaming pc for more powerful games.
why do i sound like im trying to make a sale

man they really couldn't get fuckin
beatsaber
i'm just laughing this is so stupid
the zuck owns it 😔
Someone said it's 3,500? LMAO
Holy fuck
People were out here estimating that it was going to be like 700 and 800 at least that's what I saw
It looks like it would be cool on planes though but like that's literally the only place where I'm like yeah I would probably use this everywhere else hell no
I just think VR headsets look fucking stupid though
it's probably good but doubt it's good enough to justify the pricing LOL like yeah you can... watch...stuff...
and work...
yeah..!!!
My main thing is like yeah the pricing in regards to the performance if my MacBook is still running laps around this thing then yeah I like I can't justify that price point
If it was yeah like 7 or 800 like people were expecting you know maybe but hell no 3500
they just know no one will buy it
aside from huge tech enthusiasts
That'll buy but doubt they'll actually use it
One step closer to a dystopian reality
just like ready player one
Jk it's not reality because it's vr
3500 for a VR headset? lmao
Apple premium bonus. You're automatically a superior human being because you use apple products, never forget. Isn't that worth 3.5k?
(and yes, this is exactly how Apple has marketed itself and was marketed by its fanbois in the past)
They know only a couple people are even interested in VR stuff, gotta pay up to recoup the cost
Gotta buy one for Dia, maybe then she will notice you, Rose
The one thing that I will say is that mindset is exactly what keeps Apple products retaining their value so I've just learned to look at Apple products as an asset instead of a product
Like Apple products are pretty good investment if you are looking at them as assets like the fact that I was able to resell my iPhone a year later and get like 90% of it back would I paid for it was pretty good
Can't go to them gotta find a workaround
Apple fanboys really keeping those prices up
Scoliosis for only $3,500
Yeah apple products still giga expensive even after they're old
Can recoup the investment most of the time
as shrimple as that
As if you need a headset for that, Sam
lmao

LMAO HUH
I'm home now looked up teh vision pro stuff
conceptually it's cool
I just cannot imagine it being smooth though like aint no way there isn't a ton of quirks
Seems good for people who just want to consume content and nothing beyond that
like $2000 of the price is probably dedicated to just those screens
4k res micro oled per eye is nuts
Yeah I agree
apparantly has 100+ apple games. not sure what those are though
lowest guess i saw was 700 and highest at 3k. apple out did them all
apparently the headset isn't even coming out till 2024
they just announced it early
really unusual for apple
I'm glad that I'm seeing lots of comments from people talkign about how concerned they are with a product like this
mkbhd's review was pretty spot on I feel
Well, people have to start saving up to be able to afford it
Cause you just know the people who buy this nonsense aren't gonna be rich people, it's poor people who buy it for the apple status symbol bonus
He said that the photo aspect he really disliked because it kind of got to the point where you weren't actually seeing the event with your eyes and people were talking about how that part in the video was really disturbing and dystopian like. Idk I didn't watch black mirror so I can't comment on it but people mentioned like recording memories and shit?
Idk I didn't like that at all I agree with this sentiment
Like... it's cool.. but it's also kinda weird
Sure enough parents in the comments talking about how they regret spending so much time like recording their kids growing up instead of just enjoying it
Idk was an interesting take
Also well whatever it is people have to develop apps for it too because mkbhd commented on that too that there was literally no apps for it yet
it was just like the first iphone when it got announced and there was nothing for it
I just would have thought these companies would like be under NDA and developing apps already
considering it just runs an m2, there'll probably be some kind of ios/ipados cross compatibility
first gen products always have these kinds of teething issues
it's an ecosystem thing he said if you open up your macbook it connects to the screen in the headset as a secondary or primary display idk
the ipad was just a blown up ipod touch for a long time
turns off the screen on the macbook and then you use your computer from the headset but you type on your computer
Like I guess... bigger screen sure.. but
idk that one seemed quite dumb to me lmao

its basically a macbook with an incredibly high tech display
cant think of another commercial use of micro oled at this size
It's not out yet, nor is it close to being released. I don't trust anyone who makes an argument for "a huge step in technology" about a fancy peripheral. We know how that ends about 80% of the time.
keep saying that, but in 10-20 years time this is your phone
Most certainly not
just heard it has 2 hour battery life
All that aside, I do wonder how fast technoligy like this will kill your eyes though. Staring at a regular screen from a distance already isn't good for them, now have the more intense screens glued mere centimeters in front of your eyes
not meant to be used while stood up
This just makes these things worse tbh
vr isnt the same as having a screen up close
no clue, from what i read it doesn't really effect them as much as a screen
cause it fools your eyes into focusing at range
Yes, but this isn't simple VR tech, as has been pointed out
its effectively the same thing
eh, not really. many already just use current VR while seated alot. it just heavily depends on your use. and this obv is more a cinema like system than a gaming console. just compare it to how you use 3d glasses in cinemas instead
not impressed with it being a luxury toy really but i'm sure there will be competition doing AR instead of VR now
if they dropped the panel res and tech down so its comparable to something like psvr2 then the price would be way more reasonable
well
could be
just adding remotes instead of the tracker would decrease the price by alot, but that is part of innovations. things got to start somewhere

seems pretty impressive feature wise
great eyetracking and removing the need for controllers is pretty nice
what in the heck
do they want the platform to die
Seems like other platforms like YT have similar rules, they just don't get enforced? YT also doesn't want you running video advertisements if it takes the spot of an ad they could run themselves, but they don't seem to mind it
Don't know how twitch would be with enforcing those tho
yeah from these rules it seems like they want it to be that whenever youre doing something sponsored it has to be very obvious
but its unnecessarily attacking all the streamers who have the powerered by g fuel thing
Those seem to be pretty standard aside from the logo one
3% of your screen is like ????? Bro what do you mean LOL
Next thing you say is people have different screen sizes
Think twitch is mostly the same 16:9 proportion so it would functionally be the same for everyone? but 3% is such a vague way to describe it
This is 4%, get BANNED
Even sponsorships on League championships wouldn't fall into that rule
3% feels like twitch trying to be able to pass a regulation of some sort
Cause they take way more than 3% of the screen lol
For more info on it
(Asmon is just part of the article, really)
Yeah it's just weird cause most of these are also on YouTube, but YouTube doesn't enforce them as much really
With Twitch, people are already feeling pretty negative on the platform overall so doing this just makes the red alerts ring
Twitch can be pretty bad with how they deal with these rules in general
yt also has a 70/30 split and plenty more reasons to use it over Twitch
Specially now that they're on an insane push to make more streamers just run a lot of ads
If they only cleared up their shitty streaming main site they'd basically be superior in all things, effectively
YT is better yeah just lacks more community friendly features + better user interface and experience overall
And yeah, as the article points out these ToS basically just kill all tournaments and charity streams onTwitch
Youtube also has similar rules against running competing advertisements but they don't really go after creators who do that, but yeah no one trusts twitch to not enforce that and ruin shit for everyone
Specially with their latest decisions that were just like "yeah fuck the creators we're doing it anyways!"
i think youtube do enforce that
its about adverts
not necessarily your standard sponsor spot
No. YouTube's ads policies don't let you burn or embed advertiser-created and supplied video ads or other commercial breaks into your content.
i guess thats why people always talk over the ridge wallet ads etc
Yeah but they don't enforce that, Ludwig held those events with full on advertisements on it and it was fine
Because they're not stupid and because they can run their own ads on the stream uploads, yes
The way Twitch is desperately trying to shoot themselves in the foot over and over again is just sad, really
Yep
Makes you wonder if business daddy Amazon doesn't like em any more
Yeah no one trusts twitch to not fuck this up and they're right
Seems like they're trying to prevent the weird dynamic that's going on of people simultaneously streaming on twitch and other platforms
Twitch doesn’t even have full screen on mobile 😭
I'm assuming they probably won't go after tournament organizers but after the wave of creators that are going for other platforms rn (such as rumble, kick and youtube) while still streaming on twitch
Really putting in effort to make everyone leave
wdym
of course it does
They keep digging a deeper and deeper grave..
lmao
How do they even plan on doing that
You can't just retroactively add a quitting fee to a contract
this has been a thing for partered streamers for a while
Not that 25$ is a whole lot, but this is just silly
are they extending it to everyone now?
Well, affiliates is basically everyone who matters
(read: potentially ever made money on Twitch)
Well, I never figured it out so it must be my bad
Or did I mean full screen without chat?
Never been able to figure that out
you can yea
just tap twice on the right side of the stream and the chat should hide itself when in fullscreen
just sliding the chat away should work too
Wtf
don't know if there's an arrow on mobile
ah on mobile
does that mean they are not allowed to stream mubank/inkigayo or some sort of music shows?
This is the greatest awful policy change of All Time

havent seen twitch take a beatdown like this in a long time
They really just want to tank the platform that badly, huh
Well, upside for those partners is, now they have an easy way out of their contracts
MCwill be thrilled
the contract change doesnt seem bad at first glance
but ive never seen a twitch contract in the first place so idk
Yesterday, we released new Branded Content Guidelines that impacted your ability to work with sponsors to increase your income from streaming. These guidelines are bad for you and bad for Twitch, and we are removing them immediately.

so what is happening instead? surely twitch not giving up so easily
I'm sure they're perfectly capable of fucking up some more
theyre going to scale it back to something people wont be angry about
but then over time they'll slowly creep them back to where they wanted them to be, before making them worse
but they'll do it slowly so no one really notices or cares
the google strat
I'd agree, but Twitch execs seem nowhere near as good at their job or smart as the peeps over at Google
Despite business daddy Amazon
new terms of service and partner/affiliate contract changes are still happening, the big headline is sponsorships but there's still sketchy terms of service wording
Well yeah they couldn't do much aside from completely walking that back yep
damage is already done noneless
Joey is a connoisseur of the good old boiled frog strategy I see
This. They only changed one bit of the new terms of service, the rest is still in place and will be going forward at this time.
