All the heroines are intriguing and the novel spends ample amount of time developing their characters and backstories. They all feel like they stand on equal grounds with the mc and aren't just there to be a damsel in distress. Made me feel all types of ways with the fluffy romance moments and goosebumps I got from the fight scenes. The ending was pretty satisfactory even if it did feel a bit rushed, it's gonna be sad to say goodbye to this novel and the characters. This literally has all the elements that make me love the fantasy genre so much.

||it was heavily implied to be romance but it was never outright said, and i think it's fine he's alive because violet got closure on his "death" but accepted that she could live without him.... until she jumps off the ship but my interpretation is that she's accepted that she has to live without him but as soon as gilbert calls her name she realises he needs her deep down and she's known she needs him too even if she's willing to live without him so she chooses to go with the happier path||
