I played comp in ow1 for a very long time and after a certain point it felt so demotivating, unless you could buy a new account to reset mmr or spend half the day every day grinding it was super hard to climb and skill progression was never rewarded
the new system avoids you being punished for players throwing and others random disconnects (which happened often)
idk you just don't seem to feel the losses as heavily as previous I think I'll enjoy it a lot more anyway, always hated the sr system it was the main reason I stopped playing in the end
