It takes 200 hours to reach Power Lvl 450 to earn tier 5 drops consistantly, all within a time frame of next season beginning since every season you get reset back to 200 or something + the only content you can grind to lvl quick is doing old Exotic missions that gives 4-5 drops and get cleared in 10-20min. So it's pretty much run the same mission on loop for 200h to get highest tier of loot for 0 endgame use apart from Day 1 raids, Also EVERY OTHER CONTENT IN THE GAME CURRENTLY isn't giving anything of loot to lvl up or whatever, so pretty much the game is sunset again

or if you fancy PvP then it matters (they also ruined Trials of Osiris cause you now can only go to the lighthouse once per week and not even get good loot)

player numbers also dropping big time so yea, fuck destiny 2 atm

It's still pretty barebones yes, but you also have to keep in mind the only competitor has been developed for like 15 years now and already had a strong basis to go off of :P

But yeah, the game is absolutely far from being finished but it does have more to offer than just the character creator. And the devs are super duper passionate and are constantly listening to community feedback etc etc

Game has a very long way to go, but the way does look very promising

Yeah, unfortunately the game didn't really pop off and the devs aren't really trying to revive the game. They released hella expensive gacha skin like the first update they could

Player count dropped massively after launch and playing ranked basically meant I was playing against a playerbase of the same <100 players

Which isn't too much of an issue, but I don't know if I want to invest time (and potentially even money) into a game where I don't know if it'll still exist a year later

And that's a shame because it genuinely is a really cool game. But it kinda feels like the devs are trying to get the most out of the game before it fully sinks rather than try to fix the game and make it more popular :/

although looking back recently i realised that something it does that's super unique is making double jump a late game ability

thats usually the end of tutorial marker in most mvs, so its probably why hk's level design is so distinctive

reviews are also a way to see if there's issues with tech or the game itself. look at enough reviews and you get a chunk of what to expect. look at a streamer playing it and you'll be able to tell which reviews were full of shit and see what some of the good and bad they were talking about.

despite jokes that journalists don't really play, there's enough to put together that a number of them actually do.

problem with video essays is getting someone who doesn't talk in circles for an hour when 10-20 min to get to the point would've sufficed. streamers vary, especially if it isn't their genre or if they're doing a sponsored stream.

the Baby Steps game is something I think is better watched from Twitch to see gamers frustration than something I'd play, but that's what Bennet Foddy is all about

You know, between this probably being good, but definitely selling like hot cakes, EP33 and to a lesser degree Blue Prince I really don't see how any AAA game even stands a chance as GOTY contenders this year. Probably gonna throw a nomination at Donkey Kong and Death Stranding 2 if I had to guess. Indie is king as should be.
