Dodging is there so everyone can enjoy the game and I appreciate it a lot. Accessibility without really taking away from the currentday soulsbourne enthusiast appeal through game design is just... well, good game design.
Plus after they master dodging the ones who can will be trying to then get into parrying

If I notice I have too much difficulty parrying some moves I just switch to dodging instead
Which I still mess up plenty of times. But like, even if you play the game for a few hours per week, it's really not hard at all to learn to dodge attacks with how generous the timing is

as far as im aware there were "only" (obviously shouldve been zero) a handful of stolen decals, but there were a lot of gameplay factors that people werent happy about even before that. so being charitable, this is probably good for the game. a lot of the old fans could be swayed by them bringing back more story elements
