Honestly, I've never liked weapon durability in any game ever, it's an arbitrary nonsensical factor inserted to pad out playtime. Knives don't suddenly break because you stabbed 4 people, guns don't spontaneously combust after 10 rounds shot and mastercrafted swords most certainly splinter into a thousand bits because you look at them funny.
And "But it brings more variety to the game" is just a silly argument, too. If I like to knife people, I like to knife people.
