Can we add rolls for who is open for direct messages? Maybe add a closed dm open dm and ask for dm? This could assist people who get unwelcome messages.

I thought that the icons on the nameplates indicating online, idle, etc were for that anyway.

i'd wager 95%+ of unwanted DMs are from bots, which basically goes down the user list and DMs indiscriminately.
every few days there's a huge influx (or wave, as we call it amongst us mods) of bot accounts that we ban, but the occasional one slips through.
should you get an unwanted DM that you believe to be from a bot, our collective suggestion is to report their message as spam and block the account. As others begin to do the same, it will flag the account to Discord who will then take care of it. 👍

I am uncertain of the current situation and do not recall how it was a few years ago when I began playing. However, it may be beneficial to establish a minimum level for writing to the global chat
