I think that this would help stimulate market (and/or fusion) for new players.
If we use higher quality precraft items, the chance of crafting a higher quality item would increase based of the quality of the precraft.
There could be 2 possibilities.
Either using higher quality raise chance of higher quality (+10/+20/+30/+50)
Or
Using a higher quality has a higher chance to produce that quality item, using a flawless could have a +50% chance the resulting item would also be flawless.

This sounds like a good idea, and I personaly like it. I am not sure though if anyone will spend the time to implement it unfortunately.
