As you progress you will want to aim for at least 3 heroes consisting of at least 2 archetypes per element. For how far into the game you are, dont hire samurai or spellblades as they can be very difficult to build. Samurai need pretty much every stat in only 4 slots and spellblades can learn every skill in the game except weapon skills they cant use and the few class exclusive skills
Not having mundra will limit your rerolling to dice that you get from tower and full moon fusion.
You dont have any hero thats ready for a titan soul since the only hero that has the skill set that would qualify (Williams) is near the bottom of the promotion list since knights can tank pretty well with only 3 skills, especially early game

Most DPS heroes can fit 1 survival skill into their skill set

  • Minsc fire, you want 2 skills that you wont have to change for a long time, if ever, since theres a pretty high chance of having to reroll s3-4
  • Hans reroll s1 to something with defense
  • Stevyn fire, s1 is pretty weak and s3 is pretty useless
  • Williams is great
  • Leonar reassess later, s2 is great and best possible defensive skill. s1 is weak but useable, s3 isnt great since its an offensive skill on a defensive class, but s2 is reroll 2 skills good so reassess once your roster is better
  • Quinlan fire, same situation as Minsc
  • Grell reassess later, s2 is great while s1 and s3 are pretty weak so same situation as Leonar
  • Manfred fire, no weapon skill, s2 is pretty weak and s1 is useless
  • Juniper reroll s2 for attack%
  • Amelia check s4
  • Francesca fire, s1 and s3 are very weak and s2 is useless
  • Olwen check s3-4
  • Corae is ok for now, sorcerers get most of their attack from spells so they dont want a weapon skill until about 350% attack which leads them to go with attack skills and then weapon skill or crit skills
  • Joneleth reroll s2 for attack%
  • Virgil fire, s1 and s3 are very weak

roland has 2 major uses, making almost "perfect" heroes "perfect" and making heroes you want to fire last longer while mundra lets you make skill dice and other things
you can roll good heroes without them but it will take longer, although argons finest does help speed things up a bit for roster overhauls

Both are great starts.

You're new to 53, so anything functional will work.

#

also if using a gun gives you the willies, dont look at the fact that they can use instruments which are considered a "magic" type weapon

I mean that you have four skill slots and only two skills learned.

As a starting point for the set as a whole, these are good.
