So I've returned after a year or 2 away and feel I really need to work on heroes for new quest area's, any advice on which I should work on first of if there's any I should consider retiring and replacing for a different build? I'm currently on void dimension at medium level difficulty

Not bad, honestly. Most of your heroes are decent. The main thing that stands out immediately is that a lot of your attackers are missing weapon skills. This is a really big deal. A weapon skill (think stuff like Warlord or BowMaster) gives a huge bonus to the Attack stat of the equipped weapon (which already has the highest Attack stat of all equipment by a mile except for Spells). This is then further multiplied by any universal Attack bonuses you may have. These heroes all need a weapon skill pretty badly. Reroll the listed skill to get one - do NOT be picky here. Use dice, not Roland. These are all very high priority.

  • Laubard - Parry
  • Menas - Promote, then see what he gets. If you don't get a weapon skill, you'll need to reroll something.
  • Antwan - Maintenance (will also want to swap DeadlyCriticals for something with Attack)
  • Dorothy (Sensei) - Deception
  • Dorothy (Acrobat) - Perforate
  • Giralt - Assassinate
  • Olwen - ExtraConditioning
  • Laerys - ArcaneBlast

These should also be rerolled, after you get a weapon skill on all the heroes above.

  • Arycelle - SpearMaster to basically anything
  • Deneb - WhirlwindAttack to something with Defense or HP, then Deception to get the other stat
  • Aaron - Toughness to something with Attack on it
  • Sibyl - Either promote and check S4, or retire

after some rerolls, this is where i am, do the replacement skills look good?

  • Arycelle will want to keep going. PowerAttack has basically the same problem that her old SpearMaster did - it's a purely offensive skill on a primarily defensive class. Aim for something with a defensive stat on it (Def / HP / Eva). I apologize, I should have clarified this one earlier.
  • Menas now needs a weapon skill. With a quick check of the Simulator, it looks like Assassinate is going to be the best skill to drop to get one. (Dropping Curse is better for damage, but then you lose your only source of Evasion).

Everybody else who's been changed looks good.
