Hi so I just reached level 40 and I’m trying to figure out which hero’s to keep and retire? I’m kinda lost of levelling up my hero’s but yeah any help would be appreciated 🙂 please

Build up a good hero squadron takes tons of gold. I wouldn't recommend starting with it this soon, at least on my opinion. If you can make decent score on events with them will be enough. Lord and Druid are good options since high HP/Def for early quests

At Lv40, heroes don’t have to be anything special. Pretty much any warm body that has all of their gear will work.
The gear itself isn’t all that important. Even if it’s basic, low-tier items, it will still work.
If you still want to work on your heroes, Archon summarizes it nicely here and this will be a good starting point.
Most people wouldn’t recommend trying to work on their roster until Lv53 when you can recruit the 6th generation of heroes with gold.
Not only are these heroes really useful and flexible, but at Lv53, you should be making enough money to afford the process.
