It would be great if we could save predefined groups of heroes (let's say up to 10) and then later send those exact same groups on quests like LCOG. That would make it so much easier because instead of just replacing suggested heroes all the time, we could go with the same team we saved at some point with just one click.

Preset parties is a known recommendation and pretty sure they won't do it due to rest times and such iirc

I can't imagine it would be that hard to code. Load preset 1: if slot 1 hero is available for quest, load hero. check next slot, etc. It would be up to the player to use any drinks or feathers before using presets if they don't want gaps in their lineup, or they could just fill the gaps manually. Preset parties is a common thing in games, and this one could benefit from them as well.

It's the amount of edge case, and how it should be presented to heroes that seems to be a bunch of work on their side. How do you do the separation between 3/4/5 quests heroes? Should the team be per quest/area, since it depends on barriers? How do you notify the player when one/multiple hero aren't rested (non-clickable/popup/other)? If they're in quest? In DI ship? What happens if you retire a hero that was in a team? Can you edit an existing team? etc.

Would be cool, but yeah, it's been a loooong time since it was first requested, so I wouldn't hold my breath

I'd suggest just keeping it simple. When you go to load a saved party, the game will only load those slots with heroes that are available and rested. If that turns out to be only 1 hero, then only that hero is loaded. If you have 5 heroes saved in your party, but your quest only has 3 or 4 slots, then only the heroes saved in slots 1-3 or 1-4 are loaded.. again, keeping it basic. It would be up to the player to delete or update old saved parties after retiring heroes. Maybe let the player name the saved party though, so they have an idea what the party was set up to do.

Realistically, even if you get something simple, people will ask more and more things like that, and it will give more work for them. I believe that the same thing for shop layouts. The cost of development is low, but the cost of maintenance is high, I’m sure they talked about it a lot of times in meetings.

I could see it working like this:

  • preset teams have 5 slots, slot 1-3 will always go into play, but slot 4 and 5 will have a different outline/color to show that they will only load if the quest has room for 4 or 5 heroes.
  • if a preset is selected, and one or more heroes is resting, on airship or on a different quest, they will still take their spot, but the hero will be greyed out with some icon or indicator showing why they are unavailable, and the "start quest" button will be greyed out similar to when you add a hero with a low star power.

I would keep it extremely simple.

In addition to a standard hero selection, add a button for "war parties".

In that small popup window there will be up to 10x 5-party and 4-party hero presets (which you previously saved).

  1. If a hero (any hero) is not available/not rested, you cannot select this war party at all (it's greyed out) and you have to assign heroes manually, like you do it now.
  2. If all heroes from this predefined war party are available, you can click on it (it's no longer greyed out) and these heroes will be added to the quest lobby.

I don't care about anything fancy or "asking for more". It's better to have a basic time saving feature than nothing. The amount of clicking I need to do in order to optimize parties for LCOG when constantly sending waves is insane.
