If you leave the game running and just get disconnected eventually, hitting Reconnect does not count as logging in again even if it's a new day. Not an issue on mobile devices, I think, but for computer users it is. The game has to be restarted for it to count.

That sounds like it'd be working as described, no? It's counting daily logins. If you log in one day and remain logged in throughout that day and the next, then you didn't log in that second day.

Thats the implied meaning of the word "login" here. You describe the system, which the user rightly has no idea of the details and inner workings.
It'd be understandable for an always-logged in user (how, inactivity timeout). But if the reconnect button doesn't trigger it then it's very misleading.
