Also an easy way for illegal gem sellers to sell their gems
damn, humans gotta ruin everything!
I mean I guess, if you catered everything around people who could be a bad actor in that space we wouldn't have anything at all, would we? 🙂
Well that's kinda why we don't have enchanted item trading any more
The game has already had issues with gem sellers and stuff in the past, it's how we've ended up with a lot of the restrictions we have
Can't see Kabam adding something that'd make it easier on the sellers

You can already do this in a round-about way with minimal loss buy buying up stuff like platinum chests and having someone request them. The spread has been as small as 4 or 5 diamonds per chest.
I'm just thinking from my experiences, it would have been nice to gift friends that play this game enough diamonds to finish their shop expansion or buy extra crafting slots, etc.
They do have a mechanism for gifting gem packs to players (you can go via support) which gives them some measure of control on the process.
You're correct you can do it sort of already with platinum chests and stuff but that will at least thin some of them out rather than none of them 😛
😮 I actually did not know that. I guess I'll reach out via support and see what the options are for this sort of thing.
OP said gifting, not trading, as a way to give away prizes. Gem selling via trading enchanted items is obviously not the way to go. More like make a permanent cash item pack which you will buy from kabam to give to a specific player. Like buying a pack, heck even royal merchant, but for someone else. That is what OP is going for, not trading, if I understand the suggestion correctly. I can see this as an absolute win for everyone. There are no downsides, all transactions are regulated. They can even slap added layers of requirements like you can only gift players with specific level of friendship with you, or same guild (because OP originally wanted this for guild prizes), etc.
You can already ask support to "gift" gems to someone. Op wants an easier way, which would open up holes that kabam tries to close.
