It would be nice if you could use a luxurious chest to fuse golden artifacts even if it required a perfect moon stone.
The golden artifacts are the only ones that are not able to be fused via the chest they are received from. For those that run the higher events it can be hard to earn many golden artifacts since the higher quests give opulent jewel instead.

Erm, no quests give artifacts or jewels
Opening chests and event track rewards are the source of components.
We do have a new flash quest that will drop LCoG components though so that will help (granted you can almost always buy artifacts for gold albeit for max price)
granted if you do only higher levels you'll get opulent chest keys and not lux ones as random drops, but that's about it.
