Hey everyone, I’m having a super frustrating issue with my PreSonus Quantum ES2 interface on macOS, specifically when using FL Studio and Discord at the same time.
So What happens?
• Whenever Discord is open and I’m in a voice channel, my mic signal in FL Studio starts crackling and popping.
• This only affects the mic input, not the audio playback in FL Studio.
• As soon as I disable the mic in FL Studio or leave the Discord channel, the crackling stops.
What I’ve already tested:
• Set sample rate to 44.1 kHz everywhere (macOS, FL Studio, Universal Control)
• Tried different buffer sizes in FL Studio (no difference)
• Disabled all Discord audio processing (Echo Cancellation, Noise Suppression, etc.)
• Set Discord & FL Studio to different audio devices (no effect)
• Restarted CoreAudio with sudo killall coreaudiod (issue comes back)
• Created an aggregated device in Audio MIDI Setup (no change)
Additional Info:
• Doesn’t matter which mic I select in Discord, the issue still happens.
• Happens only when I’m actively in a voice channel, not just when Discord is running in the background.
• This exact setup works fine on Windows (with ASIO), so it seems to be a macOS CoreAudio issue.
Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this or how to fix it? 😅🙏
I use macOS and i have a similar problem but with my Røde nt usb+. Usually it solves itself when i use push to talk on discord.
