This is driving me nuts.
Working on a cover of Sleeping Sun. I already have the MIDI mapped out but I can’t seem to find the right sounds for the VST’s to match it correctly. Especially the (I think) woodwinds chords at the very beginning, the keys verse melody that includes that high-frequency sparkle, and the lower distorted guitar used for the later chords. Do any of you know which instruments would come close on these? Preferably the free VST’s but I can pay for a few if they aren’t excessive.
And in general, how do you go about finding specific sounds like that when you need them?
