Why transcribe by ear?

Have you noticed any major major advantage when analyzing music production through transcibing melody and harmony (very time-consuming!) as opposed to just use a software?

It's so you don't have to rely on software (as much at least)

It also lets you hear commonalities between songs. Jazz for example, you may hear the same movements very often, allowing you to be able o analyze quicker knowing the expectation of it
