First note: I’m not operating/affiliated with any Good Kid teams (Discord or otherwise). I’m planning on going to the Seattle concert in May (I have tickets).

I’m probably prejumping preparation very early for this concert, but I wanted to post some general information/where to get some information about the venue. 🦘 I wanted to see what we are/are not allowed to bring into the venue and what the inside of the venue may look like. 🪩 Additionally, I may send an email to the venue next week for clarification if they allow confetti (&/or concert/2 man slingshots for confetti 🎊 ) and if the inside rules are the same as the outside rules. 📧

(Note: I’m going to wait about a week & a half to send an email in case a member of the Good Kid team wishes to do so instead or if they recommend that I shouldn’t.)

(I think I should be fine to post links, but if anybody wishes to just general search themselves “showboxpresents” seems to be the general website for the organizers.)

If anybody has any questions for the venue or is planning to ask the venue on its rules, mention/let me know (to prevent bombardment of emails/calls on rules). Let me know if anybody else gets conflicting messages in regards to the venue’s rules. Additionally, I’ll probably do a followup message in this channel/chat that highlights notable rules for the venue 📜 . Nonetheless, kudos for the mods for moderating (if they see this 💗 ) and I hope to see those going to Seattle. 👋

What time do vip entree come in?

I’m not sure on the exact time V.I.P will be available, but I imagine it’s about an hour before the actual concert (so ~7:00; I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that’s how it goes but I haven’t confirmed that). I imagine that they’ll send an email around the actual date, so that if stuff happens they can let us know.

To follow up on some rules that the venue mentioned 📜 (note: quotes are messages from the venues website or from an email conversation I had with the venue):

• “No food, beverages, or beverage containers.” (including re-usable water bottles) (HOWEVER, we are allowed “One empty PLASTIC water bottle to be used at the free water stations or factory sealed plastic water bottle.”)
• “NO Large purses, bags, or backpacks.”
• “YES Small bags no larger than 16” x 16” x 8”. ”
• “YES Clear plastic bags that are no bigger than 12"x12"x6”.”
• Gum is fine.
• Venue & Good Kid merch is cashless, card only. 💳
• NO Markers, pens, chalk, stickers
• No spikes allowed (spikey clothing)
• Claim that “All entries are accessible.” (May want to double check/contact the venue if needed for accommodation.)
• Prescription medications only if in the original container with original label (must match ID; “All medication needs to be properly packaged and factory labeled, otherwise you will have to throw it away to enter as we would have no way of knowing what it is, and I hope you can understand that we can't just take your word for it”. - Venue email)
• “We don't have bicycle parking, but some of our staff bike to work and it's easy to find something to chain it to in the area. Just be mindful of not blocking the sidewalk, and you CAN'T chain it to our front rail!” - Venue email
• No insect repellant inside the venue.
• No weapons/security items in the venue “…you are welcome to carry mace/pepperspray/or a personal security device. but you can NOT bring it inside. You can give it to our front door security when you arrive at the venue, and pick it up as you leave. We of course want everyone to get home safely!” - Venue email

Final notes:
We are allowed to bring confetti (“I absolutely LOVE this tradition of throwing confetti!! 😍 Yes, please bring confetti! I hope that a lot of people do!!” - Venue email). However, I’m not sure yet if the band is going to do “From the Start” or another song that would require confetti.

Reminder: Our theme is “Wall”. However, remember to keep bags small and/or clear and to not have spikes on clothing.

"VIP is usually let in about 1 hour and 45 minutes before doors. But an email will be sent out a few days before the concert with more information."

So estimated entry for V.I.P is 6:15 pm.

2. Check your emails for a Good Kid discount code for the venue's merch. (Email used to buy tickets I think; not useful now, but in May for the concert it will help a little. It will be a QR code for the venue to scan at the merch booth.)

Few other additional things to note:
THERE IS NO REENTRY ONCE YOU GO IN. (Therefore, make sure you get everything before you go in and head out.)
No crowd surfing, you may be taken out of the venue.
We are allowed to bring poster tubes into the venue (as long are they within bag size).
If you're bringing confetti, keep it big (bigger than 2 cm), bright, Not Sharp (not stars), and a little hefty. This will help the venue clean up afterwards. 🎊

2 Propositions:
I’m just posting these ideas out there with no expectation that the crowd will actually follow through, but I am curious to see how this channel thinks about these ideas.

The first proposition I posed if the band doesn't do “From the Start” (which is seemingly like they probably will), but I still propose it now as maybe “double the confetti, double the fun” 🎊.
Basically, right after the part in Cicada goes “Dance with Me!”, we throw confetti.

The second proposition requires more coordination and people to space out (which may be unlikely naturally without some convincing). With any or just the last chorus of Tornado I propose we form a circle pit. This has supposedly been done before in another concert and GK seems to give it the thumbs up as long as we are safe.

I would check in with the venue personally if you're worried about them confiscating it. Otherwise, signs are generally allowed at the concerts. Just be respectful and aware of your fellow audience members by not holding it up the whole time or making it too too big :)

I will say that from personal experience, holding merch and a sign or poster the whole concert makes it harder to get active during the songs

Admittedly, I think it's advised against bringing in signs for a few reasons.

1. Visual obstruction (venues got to trust you are fairly in the back the whole concert)
2. Carrying around/luggage (as mentioned it has to fit the 16" x 16" x 8" rule and the venue doesn't want it laying about)
3. Messaging (the venue might not be cool with risking certain messages & bad rep)

That being said, what do you want on your sign(s)?
If it's messages/a sentence, I'd be against it. If it's characters/song phrases and double sided decorated (Ex: Characters Cicada dancing on one side, "I could be!" on the other. Basically good effort and appealing towards the audience), the venue might be more open to it.
However, you would need to send in a proof of concept &/or what your bringing and ask the venue, which may be tough to do in ~5 days.

As mentioned by Hangtime, I'd still probably not bring a sign, as the pain of lugging stuff around would be... a pain. So while I do respect and I will communicate with the venue if you want to still give it a blind shot, it might be something for another day.

Otherwise it’s honestly pretty rare, most artists tour based on an album, so when they play most of an album and a few of their greatest hits in one go, they don’t have a lot of room in the set list for covers

I've been to showbox once. it's definitely visually much larger than the crocodile, where the previous gk tour's show was held. it's a nice building. it used to be a warehouse and it's history is evident in its industrial brick and plaster walls, but it's got immaculate vibes. I had a front barrier experience the initial and only show I've seen at SBSODO but boy was it 🔥

I literally came across a compilation of Reyna and Callum and stopped it about 30 seconds in went to see some other clips about the show to make sure it was quality and then I went blind into it. Absolutely have loved it and totally worth stopping myself on the compilation and not spoiling myself on things lol. Story is so good but characters are all amazing lol
