@dapper current Dude you need to think that we dont have enough teams to field a tier 9 tournament in addition to the tier 10 , tier 8 , tier 7 one which r all played at the same time , its already hard to find a team to play against in QT at tier X for example , imagine if some of those teams moved to the t9 tourney ...

Just realised why my controls have felt so messed up..

They got switched during a tournament. I've been struggling to reverse for days. Jeeeeeez. That's a massive oversight @chilly terrace - should be a priority fix.

Specifically - the issue is while in touch if you spectate someone, your control layout switches to theirs. That's mental.

Default layout and settings are not ergonomic (at least on iPad). You can dramatically increase movement efficiency (and therefore action economy) by:

Increasing sensitivity to 150% across the board.
Setting ammo-tab to stay open.
Repositioning aim and fire buttons to directly align in relation to the resting positions of your thumb (extended and bent).
Resizing movement joystick to the smallest size you are capable to operate.
Repositioning movement joystick such that the central point is aligned to the resting line of your thumb and specifically, located between the two resting positions (extended and bent).

Intelligently spacing your 2nd fire and lookout-view icons to avoid accidental triggering whilst also still readily accessible.

Mad games doesn’t have respawn mechanic and can play supremacy mode.
Uprising has respawns and can only play encounter. Imagine a coordinated group of 7 players spawn camping in uprising tournament @thorn shale

Abilities from uprising could be worked into mad games format.

Respawn mechanics non-starter in organised play.

@thorn perch - you need to find or build a team. Try looking in #tourneys-team-search for a clan / group of players. Make sure to indicate your server region, and intended tournament tier (6, 8 or 10).

@vital obsidian safety metrics are insanely high. Very low crime rates across the board.

Minsk is probably safer for tourists than most EU capitals - so for the travelling players I'd say there is zero to worry about. Someone tell their parents.

Also as we know from the past and even my experiences at Tankfest - WG do an excellent job of organising things for their people (staff/ players / CCs etc.) when it comes to logistics.

I mean - for @silver vapor and his team mates - WG would handle all logistics, and the players would basically be shuttled from airport to hotel upon arrival. Shuttled between hotel and venue. Then shuttled back to the airport. Safe as houses IMO.

tbf, people could make this a lot less of a problem by easing their parents into it

when the tournament starts, tell them about it casually, and make sure to mention the offline event, then throughout the weeks talk about it occasionally, so they know it's a thing still, then as the finals draw near, tell them about the offline event again, and then add the prize fund

so that by the time the finals actually happen, they're fully aware of the possible consequences and know how important it is to you 🤷

Agreed! - A Bo5 series is not longer than 50 minutes. We can it expect it to be much more rapid in the current meta. But still - teams will switch rooms/ the stage etc. and there'll be interviews and awards and etc. etc. etc. - Twister stream will be like 7 hours probably

@short tundra - a group of 3 plays 3x Bo5 fixtures in a round Robin format. There are two groups so it's 6 matches in total.

from my perspective EU likes to hold and tries to get the cap advantage , ofcourse there are some teams that like to rush but not that many in the top levels.
RU usually sees what's going on in the map and rushes the enemy, those teams can also hold and play for points but that's usually not their goal
NA is similar to EU but I'd say with way more rotations

My $0.02

CIS = Aggressive, mobile play that commits to early engagements. Specialises in focus fire, target priority and hit-point rotations. Reliance on mechanical skill and catching enemy tanks out of position. Can fall short early if initial push is defended against effectively. Have been touted as the number 1 seed since forever. However, this year, they look truly formidable and worthy of the #1 seed. The 6.2+ meta rewards their strengths.

EU = Very complex strategies that focus on crossfires, patience and controlling battlefield information. Specialises in wait-and-bait play styles but can switch to rush-meta to reduce predictability. Can tilt on a bad run, and then second guess their own strategic approach to detrimental consequences as a result. The server boasts the best track record to date at Twister, but the 6.2+ meta does not suit the primary EU server meta. They cinch the #2 seed above NA but only just.

NA = Kings of counters - attention to detail and scouting of enemy teams. Can tailor strategies to match opponent. Arguably occupying a half way house between CIS aggression and EU patience. Specialises in innovative game play to wrong-foot their opposition, especially rapid rotations along unusual routes. Hypothetical lower skill cap (relatively) may see individual players making mistakes in early to mid-games phases, such as bleeding HP, making unfavourable trades and not engaging optimally. NA are #3 seed but given their ability to adapt to new metas and develop strategic counters, 6.2+ may give them surprising opportunities.

Asia = Jacks of all trades, masters of none. Asia server meta demonstrates elements from CIS, EU and NA but at a lower level mechanically. In general, the Asia server meta is less specialised. While this makes Asia's particular identity hard to define, it does mean that teams are ready for anything. Asia server teams are constantly and simultaneously on guard for passive tricks and hard, 7-tank rushes. This invariably means that Asia server teams are both capable of playing with extreme degrees of caution - or - wreckless abandon. The perceived lower level (relatively) of mechanical skill and lack of unique strategic identity, means that Asia server teams will be going hard, going home or banking on Lady-Luck and her spouse, RNGesus. They will be underestimated, but that is something they can use to their advantage. They are the #4 seed but that annoys them.

CN = From what we know, the China server meta is still nascent. They are several years behind a well developed curve and with limited access to YouTube content, are "learning" tricks from other servers at a slower pace [potentially]. Reports suggest several CN comp mains originate in WoT PC and Asia server Blitz. From what we have seen, CN tournament teams are only just beginning to evolve strats beyond pub-match paradigms. To be brutally honest, CN are the #5 seed and are significantly weaker than their opponents. A show-match between CN Champions and EU Ascent Tournament winners would demonstrate the size of the current skill gulf.

True. Lengthy series is off putting - but I suspect strongest vs weakest MM really discourages weaker teams from showing up at all.

Better prizes would motivate attendance as would being guaranteed to play a fixed number of matches rather than just playing one Bo3 and getting deleted.

@glass thunder That's not a problem. These are two different options: previous year there were more teams which didn't ever come to play their matches. This year we had less teams in qualifying on EU, that's true. But these teams were more motivated.

The amount of teams was not biggest issue but the heavy reliance on getting tickets, it works better for more teams

the newer to tourney play clans get disillusioned quickly in current format. They should have ongoing tourney with legit rewards and worthwhile end goals. new criterias like wr driven tourneys or max tourney battles allowed per team.

In general Yes that's right , but recently I noticed a similarity between RU EU and NA to be fair, what makes Ru so special is their medium playstyle Which is a really common thing now thanks to Progettos , t22s and Fv215b ( Throw back to 2016 meta when Fv215 and 140 were the OG tanks ) therefore games might be closer than usual @winter swallow

It is absolutely obvious (sry for not having the facts and figures supporting this bold assumption) that CW scene is shrinking.

Now it is up to WG to decide whether they want to develop this game mode, that require an amazing level of commitment (gather a team on a given time, train instead of « playing », develop a stable group of players, build strats) or not.

And I am not meaning by developing this game mode award more credits or avatars or whatsoever, but make this game mode worth investing a hell of time by giving a purpose more than once a year for like 2 weeks during twister cup. More obvious way would be to create clan rankings that u could grind like ratings battles, but could be other options as well. But at least something.

It is quite clear to me that it is not WG priority atm. The only people truly caring about this mode are the streamers that put enthusiasm and energy into it. Many thanks to them.
That’s unfortunately not enough to retain people (I mean there are lot of other mobile games proposing clan wars mode much more interesting). And people progressively quit this game mode, and for those who are only interested by it, progressively quit this game.

It has to be rewarding, fun, challenging, interesting but most important players have to be passionate about clan wars. If you arent you drop out cause lack of interest. First of all Its important to get new players into this awesome playground. Ingame regional chats, country flag avatars anything that brings people together and make them enjoy this together. Alone its pretty damn hard

comp sucks in NA cuz players suck and if they have a leader they would rather call everyone hackers than put in the time as a team to improve thus have no idea what to do in comp situations so they continually get beat down. comp teams by and large in NA are lazy brats that would rather complain about things then coordinate a decent team

You can think blitz for example like a ice hockey. Theres a lot of people playing it for fun with friends but you need to be passionate about it to play in team especially in professional level. Thing is how do you make peple to join a team, stick with it and git gid

First step is to get players. Theres a one in (?) number that find its way to some group and enjoy being there and doing what he likes but majority doesnt. Grinding aspect isnt feeding new players that much but on other hand they gotta learn basics with players on their skill level. Bot MM with rerolls isnt working i believe.

I think Blizt should have global clan wars for territories just like PC does. It's fun to have competitive battles for territories with other clans. The territories would give gold and other currencies. Clan are able to create treaties and alliances. I don't know what else it has in PC but it sure would bring a lot of damn attention. Yeah it is exactly like how credits and free xp are distributed. The more games you play, the more coins you get and if you have a full team there is a good chance that you will have to sit out thus earning less coins

Honestly I don’t care about the politics at all, We saw probably the best twister matches ever from all teams. Whatever team u support u need to respect that WG did an amazing job and every team performed outstandingly. Events like this give me hope for the future of this game.
