So this is a problem i probably have becoz of my internet/ device, that is i spawn 5-10 seconds late in matches. This doesnt affect me much in randoms but it affects me alot in tourneys coz i have to get to a spot quicky and those few seconds count. So cud we have the battle timer that ratings has for tourney. Iirc ratings battle timer is longer

We r talking about when we spawn in, theres a timer that says battle starts in and it gives like 7 secs. Whereas in a ratings battle there is first an awaiting players timer that is a minute long but as soon as all players spawn in it changds to battle starts in 7 secs or so, thats the kind of timer system (similar to ratings one) i wud like to see in tourney
but seeing as how wg havent replied, i doubt they'll do it

Last night during the tournaments there was a bug where the countdown would go to zero and stay there for 10 seconds before entering the battle. Multiple people in my clan had the same issue. Its only a small bug and it doesn't effect the gameplay.

I've gotta say, our team really appreciated the entire 50 GOLD EACH after we won the gold series yesterday... Seriously wg, this is stupid. If you're gonna award gold for the winners (and you don't have to) then make it an amount that actually makes a difference... 1 million credits and 9 hours of premium, along with 50 gold are pretty poor rewards for the winners if you ask me.
We only had seven players too, with 9 it'd be even more pathetic.

Gold and silver are done by win rate. The mid season setoff are done by wr, but they are spreading out. Eg group one has the highest wr clan, group 2 has the 2nd, group 3 has the 3rd. It then goes back to the top once it reaches the bottom group. (Correct me if I am wrong)

Quick tournaments are good in a sense that it brings a bunch of followers together we get to laugh and have fun on Discord but the matchmaking for quick tournaments are a little bit lopsided and I think that overall it is a good concept only wish that quick tournaments were on Tuesdays and Thursdays like they used to be because Monday Wednesday and Friday in with a Wednesday early start sometimes we only get to do one a week on Monday because everybody’s out Friday night and Wednesday it’s too early
We used to play to a week and sometimes one on the weekend when it was a serious tournament but now basically it’s one a week and a half hearted second quick tournament

The rewards are so small that no one even notices them anymore.
If they had a reward that were worth wild to some of the chips in the clans you would see a lot more serious participation but we have no shows and we have people late and people not getting a Discord because there’s really no reason to get into a quick tournament and play other than just bragging rights really

there's no doubt I am playing a lot more tournament than I used to be playing in the past.
and in the end if you compare the rewards per battle, QT and Random battles (both at tier x), you would still earn more with QT. so for players who wants to play more tier x and also under a "casual tournament environment", QT is the way to go for them
it's not really fair comparing tier 8 random battle vs tier 10 tournaments, as the meta differs and also credit coefficient is different
If you are really chasing for credit grinding efficiency, go to random battles. tournaments should be in no way a more efficient way to grind credits
instead, tournaments allows you to bring in a team and challenges you to approach this game differently compared to random battles, and you are rewarded "appropriately" for your efforts.
I am not saying that the current rewards are totally enough, more initiatives can be put into prizes (exactly what my previous long essay was about), but currently tournaments is what it is.

@silver vapor to be fair I did buy four maybe five tier x tanks since January or early December. But yeah, I’ve been using them quite regularly in comp (okay some of them)- that are fully equipped. I understand what red mean. For example on Mayan ruins if you take 6 heavies and one light, one heavy spawns next to the light instead of near other heavies. This is ok if it's a mobile heavy tank spawning there, but I have had a maus spawn there which is just stupid. Maybe not allow selection but at least allow heavies to spawn on the heavy side .

There's only so many spawn spots for tanks and it's a limitation for taking so many heavies. Random battles this will not happen because MM tends to balance out that tanks so that there are no more than 4 tanks of each type.
It's a game mechanic. Deal with it, not asking them to change it for you because it puts you in a disadvantage.

In ratings there is first a timer which says "awaiting players" and is of 60 seconds, and as soon as all players spawn in, it changes to "battle starts in" and again gives7 secs

Regarding time between the battles in the frames of one match - it's set as 2 minutes. I'm not sure that we should expand this timeframe, because in this case tournament will be playing much longer.
Regarding time frame in the battle before the start: it may appear someday, but I can't say when.

@pallid raven it literally wouldn't work due to technical difficulties. Wg has always decided against allowing spectators, aside from official streamers, and those use a 5 min delay to avoid any sort of cheating going on. I don't see that changing any time soon 🤷♀️
Thing is that if you allowed that, said spectators could free cam..they'd still not see the enemy team, but they would see anything driven against and all of it, as that doesn't depend on tanks being spotted
They'd be able to tell exactly where the enemy is going and have a very good guess at what they'll be doing

We've faced the technical issue on Saturday Midseason Setoff tournament on NA-region. Final stage didn't start because one match wasn't played in the group stage. We decided to move this match to 6th of March on 18:00 PT / 21:00 ET. The Final stage will start in 10 minutes after the end of Group stage. Rewards for the Final stage were increased on 50%.

This midseason tournament is singlehandedly being a bigger problem than two nights of tournaments. In fact it became four. Since I am unable to do tonight’s and tomorrow nights tournament. Is there any way- by professionals or any other multi day tournaments, where I can sign up for a big tournament and not have it impact my ability to participate in smaller tournaments.

the rule is fair, but this situation is not. a bug by WG not only keeps people out of tourneys they should be able to participate in, but it also changes the date of a tourney from a weekend to a school night for MOST players. just blows my mind that they didn’t just throw out the tourney in the first place. having a tourney resume on a different date could cause even more problems, whether it be on our side or WG. i don’t think they have ever resumed a tourney after a bug, but the decision has been made, and i doubt this discussion will result in a change.

So here is the issue regarding wargaming's solution. First, the match took place there is no denying it there are replays and screenshots from a lot of players. Second, getting the same people on for the tourney will be hard. Our lead FastEddie has to work at the hospital so he won't available until maybe the last match. As for me, my grandfather died and I have to pick up family members from the airport that day. As for the rest I don't know if they will have time so I guess it will be an automatic loss for us.

This is better than just getting the prizes from Saturday through the qualifying stage. I just play the quick ones because they're a nice change of pace from normal pubs with 30%ers. I think that's the majority of people. You guys are on a different level than most. Everything I'm saying is for the baseline tourneys, i think the serious ones should be more seriously regulated and traditional.

The tournaments that allow spectating right now do not allow pc users to free fly. We tried it last week. They can only go through the tanks on their team and do their point of view.

@azure void I wasn’t referring to the enemy team. In training rooms the spectator (when using pc) can “fly” above the entire map and see a bird’s eye view. It can be useful for seeing trees fall in the enemy side to determine the direction they are heading.

Does anybody know how to exit a tournament as a player while it's underway? We recently ran the Midseason Setoff X - we didn't make it past the Group stage and the Final stage isn't until tomorrow night. We received our reward, we're not in the Final bracket, but in the meantime none of us can participate in any other tournaments ( we're trying to do the Bronze event tonight but it says we're already in one). Any thoughts? Or are we just screwed until the Finals are over tomorrow?

We've faced the technical issue on Saturday Midseason Setoff tournament on NA-region. Final stage didn't start because one match wasn't played in the group stage. We decided to move this match to 6th of March on 18:00 PT / 21:00 ET. The Final stage will start in 10 minutes after the end of Group stage. Rewards for the Final stage were increased on 50%.

Seeing as its only in the small tournaments, there is nothing wrong with it. It allows the new people in the clan to learn the tactics and doesn't leave the reserves twiddling their thumbs while the rest of the team plays. It could also encourage more people to play tournaments because it is easier to learn the tactics and less time waiting. (I assume they added it because they realised people might have done what I previously said ... ;))
