So am I the only one that wishes wg would do tournaments with only tier 9s? I think tier 9 is a very balanced tier, and would be very interesting and varied in its meta. I mean, you can take a tier 9 in a tier 10 tournament, but nobody in their right mind would do that. It doesn't seem too much to ask, either, all wg have to do is stick up another few tournaments a week with the tier cap at 9 rather than 8 or 10.

I only meant this for the non-competetive tournaments, maybe only have them as quick tournaments, for example. They don't have to run on the same days as competitive tournaments either.

@golden flare Midseason setoff tournaments hold on Wednesday and Saturday. Bronze series tournaments hold on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Silver and Gold series hold on Saturday, but Gold and Silver series were moved to Sunday on this week.

Could you put all tournaments at 7-8pm CET start because that's the best time to play then since not a lot of ppl have free time from earlier than that to join and play (e.g myself and other friends which I make a team with)
Doing them earlie from 4pm CET seems pointless tbh or anytime earlier than 7pm CET since not a lot of people will play them.

I don’t know, I really like the wends 8 tournament slot since it allows me to do qt and scrim.
With the tier 7-9 tournament games, I think my best solution is the Tuesday, and Thursday slots. Personally I’d like to see them in the game, but I can understand why wg wouldn’t.

It's all about your team, winrate numbers rarely matter here. Heck, we even screwed up a few times against a 48% team because they have been playing so much tournaments they know what to expect and how to react

@thorn shale Cups are not getting you points for Hall of Fame, because Hall of Fame is used only for seasons. Presently, you can accumulate cups for receiving achievement after off-season.

Any official statement from WG about the mess up last night?
TBH, teams that entered the tournament should all be given some form of compensation:
- Time spent training, with the expected outcome of getting some form of rewards for finishing the tourney
- Time spent waiting for the next round which never happened.
- Time taken for team leaders to gather their teams......
All of this was done with the expectation of getting a reward from the tournament. Now, we were left high and dry, and this is not the first time either......
WG kindly hire a new software and bug specialist (whatever they are called), because the current team really have no clue what they are doing if they cant get a simple time and date right.......

Extreme example: tier x on copper. Too small

The map is too small. The middle of the map is too open, the destructible object (oil truck) slow you down too much. The map layout isn't bad, but there is hardly any room for flexibility, if you go the city side you are too separated, because of the buildings, and heavies can struggle to traverse around them. The map has also been out of tournament rotation so adding it back suddenly is a bit strange. Although it is a change from normal tournaments maps. It can be annoying when it is a map which stops u from getting to tour 5.

@low badger Hello. I am not saying get rid of Quick tournaments at all. I am ok with the format, at best, and it has helped us on more than 1 occasion fill a team with the group we are in. I just think there should be 1-2 tournaments where it is clan only and I liked the structure of the tournaments I listed.
Another reason would be there is no longer an emphasis on being part of a clan now with running ONLY the quick format. The only benefit is clan supply.

It’s cool to fill a tournament with a clan only roster, [my team does this all the time] but I enjoy having the ability to play with any group I want. There’s really no reason to remove options in that regard.
Sure there’s a clan supply benefit, but it’s kind of cool to wear a tag that has a semblance of meaning on the na server, but I think a clan really did its job, it allowed you to be more social and expand your horizons as a player. being a part of other comp teams without leaving your core group is always a huge plus for me. Your five letter tag shouldn’t be a barrier to making a decent roster

I just read it and as a frequent tournament player I must say that I like this idea a lot, I didnt know that these features already existed in WoT PC and WoWs. And i really think that these kind of ideas are those that really make a game grow, and in this case, it would make WoTB a lot more competitive game and it would help develop esports inside WoTB

@silver vapor running a tier 9 in a tournament that everyone else is playing in tier 10s isn't at all what I'm looking for here. I personally believe that tier 9 is an incredibly interesting tier, certainly my personal favourite. There aren't tier X tournaments every day of the week, so putting the odd tier 9 one in on a different day should hardly be an issue.
Tier 9 is also incredibly varied when compared to other tiers, making it even more interesting from a tournament perspective

I think the way to highlight a trial for this would to do a month where there were only two tiers available. Week 1 tier 6 and 10, week 2 7 and 10, week 3 8 and 10 and week 4 9 and 10. If you use 7 and 9 you’d get more tier 8 players dropping for tier 7 than would move up to tier 9 and I think 9s would be a bit thin

What is the purpose of the qualifying stage on the Mid Season Setoff tournaments? You have 8 teams play single elimination for three rounds and the top clan advances but the groups of four are sorted by win rate. What’s the point of the first bracket, just to sort the final stage on the win rate of the top 7 players? There has to be something more logical than this

lol that is what I do, add some low wr bot in team so we dont get in top groups. I mean in Final stage you will end up against 60%+ but when you get in final stage even if you get 3-4 you get like 1 mill combined

First game starts at 20.00 Cet, it can last 7 mins and loading in the game and out from it takes about 1 minute. There's a 2 minute break between games so that's already 10 mins. The next game can also last 7 mins added that 1 minute for loading in and out the game. Total is 18 minutes right now. In case of draw, must play the 3rd game and wait that extra 2 minutes between the games. 3rd game can also last full 7 minutes added that 1 extra minute for loading in and out the game. Total is 28 minute.
The bo3 against 1 opponent can take 28 minutes, there must be time to fully complete the games and find out the winner

@chilly hemlock that was one-time situation when you've received compensation for tickets. Please try to understand: the ticket as it is has no price and value as an item. The value are those rewards you can win using this ticket in tournaments. That's why now we're removing tickets without any compensation. The ticket is an entry condition to the tournament but not a reward on it's own.

That post directly correlated to what we got from the bronze tickets yet nothing else
The tickets were given out from battleground tournaments, the best blitz has ever had, back in twister season 17. Each winning player made 4 million credits or more. It’s been two years and we haven’t seen nearly that in a reward since

While I didn’t receive a red ticket, the fact that players earned them expecting credit rewards that were received tells me about a awful precedent. How wg can change the format of tournaments, make a ticket / currency utterly useless, and players being forced to accumulated tickets for the new format, with the hope and expectation of any semblance of compensation.
It’s also super frustrating how the costs of credits in blitz seem to stack up so high- I just wasted nearly 2m credits equipping the new tier 6 Chinese TD-
And for my credit rewards (which I nearly win all the time) can’t seem to keep up with the costs of comp. especially as the meta is shifting away from one tank fits all, but onto a diverse map pools requiring various tanks.
I’m relying on WG at some point giving me a substantial credit boost for my tier 8 gold and silver tickets- a format seldom seen since last year’s winter-fall season.
Im sitting on around 10 gold tickets for tier x, I can imagine my team and clan accumulating an amount equal to an entire 8 team bracket.
I’m really unsure what the harm of giving players rewards is anymore, progressively decreasing rewards such as premium time for good behavior, and a stark decline in credit and gold tournament rewards. Its like there’s a complete disconnect between what I want as a player, and what wargaming wants out of the playerbase from tournaments. Is it really such a surprise that the most rewarding tournaments, Professionals and Twister qualifiers, happen to be the most popular tournaments played going by one event? Because they offer something unique and different. I’m willing to offer more credits as a unique offer, because the rate to gain credits is a lot steeper than the grind grind grind nature of premium tank credit grinding
Additionally, I can’t play with my “lesser skilled friends” in comp anymore because I know they’ll get clapped by higher winrate teams- making the challenge of organizing a roster highly redundant. So I have to really pick and choose who I play with, and that’s not fun. This is a problem that is hard to solve, but I’ll just put that out there.

@chilly hemlock I believe the bronze tickets was exchanged for credits because it was originally an item that you would earn from missions. and missions that would originally earn you credits was changed to become missions that earn you the tickets. which is why I think that was the only case when Wargaming decided to give value to the ticket, to compensate for the effort for getting them from misssions

I’m sorry but why is this the format? We have always kept our extra tickets. A few months ago we did tier x tournaments with gold tickets left over from 2017. Why is wg punishing long time players for their previous success instead of allowing them to keep and use the tickets?

for the echelon tickets, the tickets removal is logical because you are only meant to sent 1 team from each clan for that tournament
same goes for the cups since cups themselves hold no value whatsoever other than determining the ranking of teams in a season
so the only thing we could possibly argue for is the Championship tickets (red tickets)

I don’t know how everyone feels across the other servers but na comp at the top end of tier 10 is down to 4-6 clans. This seems like a way of further discouraging people from spending their time playing tournaments. Not to mention, if you don’t win, you’d make more credits playing a lowe in the same amount of time than you would coming 3rd or 4th
