Kaiser screwed them by getting in the war, resulting in Versailles. No German liked that treaty.
The Germans didn't know they were losing, they thought that they were winning even in 1918. So it came as a shock that they surrendered, and that fostered resentment.
People like Mr. H exploited that fear to gain power, such as the "stab-in-the-back myth", and resentment against the Jews

30 years war was far enough away that it wasn't in the general populace's mind

@proud cave I beg to differ. Germany built up their empire in response so that the atrocities in the 30 years war would never happen again. And when they did this they took back rightful German lands such as Bavaria and other southern Germanic states. This infuriated France so after ww1 they made the treaty of Versailles extremely harsh on Germany as if they started the war

Depth charges are a bad idea. How would you like Anti-Tank mines in WoT?

The only way Depth Charges could be balanced is if they only effect Subs in the submerged state, and if they have spotting mechanics like torpedoes

A lot of Destroyers do cosmetically have Depth Charges as well as some cruisers and Battleships

Eh, I would argue that WoTB requires more ACTIVE thinking, you need to angle your tank, know where you are and where to go next, think of where the Enemy could be, where to aim, etc.

While on WoWB, you need enough Active Thinking to fire enough ahead of your enemy to hit, because in WoWB, bullets have drop and can take almost 10secs to hit.
