Castilla is trash. Most of the players know that if they move forward they will get shot by many tanks. Have had battles with one minute left and 12 tanks remaining
Honestly wg should remove the maps that aren't really historical or not a battle field really, and add actual maps of actual places

agreed @dire lava , they need to be bigger, and alot of the small maps tier 7 and up are still able to play on for some reason even though they shouldnt be, like some of Wot pc versions small maps would be nice for tier 7 and up and leave a lot of current maps in blitz for the lower tiers

LT's and fast MT's lead the flanking, and TD's and HT's provide the force to keep it going
@pastel mantle it depends on the td, heavy, and medium being used and its stats and how it works best in what situations
Well, most heavies are too slow to lead a flanking maneuver, but yes, it does depend on each tanks stats. Plus, what if the enemy attempts a flank on the same side? A lot of tanks leading the charge will die on each side, and then what? Everyone must be able to "Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome."
Light tanks are usually used as spotters and or flankers and meds are usually used for flanking and or counter flanking and sometimes spotting depending and td’s are usually cover fire and sometimes sit behind heavies while pushing up and heavies are usually used for pushing up on enemies like you said for main force or defending/ stopping power

I would rather they save mobile power for gameplay and maps. I can give up Having active weather conditions for larger maps.

Yes I do agree WG needs more maps like Normandy. The visual effects makes the environment more real life fight. Like looking at other maps it doesn’t really have a scenery or a reason to it. Like 2 hills with both bunkers but you spawn and either sides. Yeah it’s kind of weird to think about it and also there’s no pathway behind you it’s just blocked by hills. I would recommend slightly bigger map but maybe with more flora with less effects like flak cannon, fire etc. like Operation Market Garden it’s really a calming map and it’s open for a tank battle.
Or make a map with more visual effects like flak everywhere in the sky and a lot of burning smoke columns in the sky. For that you could remake a map in Berlin

Ardennes is not really fitting because it’s a Forrest map but Bastogne is slightly more open so I’d say it’ll be a cool snow map. Stalingrad could be a cool map. Full of fires and broken down buildings everywhere with a dark atmosphere in the sky because of all of the smoke flying up into the sky. Berlin is another good map if could just be almost nothing as Stalingrad. It’s less fiery but more explosion going on considering Russians stop their bombardments in Stalingrad. Not sure about El Alamein and Kursk but I’ll have to look it up. But still thinking of Leningrad. So nice choices. I’ll see if it’s possible to make it balanced in sort of way but still epic
Players do not get those visual effects of feel of battle so with this kind of historical maps and visual effects it will sure make it more attractive to players. Unlike Goldville which is just random.
Would it be possible to see heat maps that show how the KV-2 is played on open maps and heat maps that show how other tier 6 heavies are played on the same maps?

I have finally figured out why castilla seems so big
Its because castilla has no direct rout straight through the map (Black goldville has a road through the middle, dead rail is an open map) Castilla has so many buildings and obstacles that stop a direct route, making it longer to travel from one part of the map to the other, the height difference also helps make it seem very big.
Castilla is nicely designed.
Except when the meds go the wrong way, and then the heavies camp instead of knocking out the enemy heavies because they have the entire team with them, and the fact that the Castilla basically controls the entire map so there is never any actual strategic need or advantage going heavy lane
I had an awesome battle on Faust today, everyone stayed together, and we ran head on into the enemy team. We then killed all of them via sidescraping/hiding and shooting, and then we just absorbed the Tiger (P)
It was great, everything came together perfectly

Faust is one of the biggest maps in the game, but if you havent noticed all of blitz's maps are tiny. 600m maps are too small, we need more 7 - 800m maps

But some feel bigger or smaller, like Castilla feels huge even though you can traverse it completely in less than 2 minutes going 60 kmh
Faust is too big because in any given battle, only about half or less of the map will actually be used. In maps like Castilla, usually the entire map will be used in any given game
Faust also doesn’t really lend itself to incredibly clever positioning or strategy, though it can. What I really like about Faust is all of the Altitude differences relatively close together, I wish WG would incorporate more of that into their maps
Yeah, like in Mines, the battle is usually for the hill. If your team has the hill, you can defend it quite nicely.
Pretty much, not even going into the heavy and TD imbalance in that map. The southern spawn has TD cover all the way to the town and base, unlike the northern spawn
On mines I most always like to got to the island on the right so I can flank and take out their TD

Yeah, but in general, south spawn is the better spawn for everybody else. Not to mention how much more cover snipers have there vs the northern spawn which is just pitiful. It’s really hard to snipe from northern spawn because there’s only a couple places you could be so basically anyone blind firing that area has a high chance to just hit you

I'm currently thinking that going counter-clockwise around the edge is good.
It's not always good to go together
But in my experience, the battle-group tactic works quite well
On copperfield going both clockwise and counterclockwise at the same time is a great strategy.
I greatly dislike Copperfield hill. Mainly supremacy Copperfield hill
I do fairly well, depends on how stuff goes. If both teams go hill except 1-3 of us go away from hill, we slaughter. If team goes full hill and enemy goes mostly hill, we get slaughtered. If both teams go full hill, it's usually a long drawn out deal of niether side advancing unless one team get too eager and tries to advance. Whoever advances first usualy dies right after. Unless we have major alpha and armor advantage. Usually we don't and the team will go hill and lose a tank everytime they poke their heads over.

Was amusing though when both teams had atleast 1 kv-2, su100y, su-152, kv-1s and just sat on hillside waiting for somebody to advance. Stayed so long we all just started chatting. Game ended as a draw with 1 tank on eachside dead.

How is Canada a candidate? If a Polish tech tree comes first in the main platform version there will never be a Canadian tech tree.

It may not be PC, but Israel could be on the list with all the modified tanks they’ve created over the years. And I’ll bet we’d all love to have the Merkava Mk.I at Tier X.
As for in game maps I’d really like Mines restricted to low tiers, V and lower, with Himmelsdork deleted entirely. Cramming high tier tanks onto the smallest maps or the ridiculous spawn camp fest of Mines just punishes any Medium or Light player unfairly. Heavies and TDs have enough advantages at Tier X that they don’t deserve a shooting range map.

Please oh please remove the Wasteland map from mid and high tiers. It’s way too small for tier 8-10 and can get pretty cramped in tier 7! It was great for the Mad Games, but it really doesn’t fit mid and high tier random game!

South spawn oasis palms is so broken. You can park TDs in the far corner and completely dominate C with minimal support unless the enemy full yolos. And by then, they bleed so much that they lose.
You have to overextend too much to spot anything that deep in the map

Faust is good, learn to play it
Wasteland is not suited for pub games. Anything lacking gun depression is absolutely horrid to play on that map

Some maps are not broken but players totally ignore one side of the map (Port Bay, Yamato Harbor) and this is annoying

Canyon with main important spot that is B and you can’t drive to A or C without getting shot if someone ignored that B, 2 sides are city so lights with bad depression can’t play properly here. Finding a decent sniper position is almost impossible.
Dynasty Pearl is just a big city, and even the « meds » side gives and advantage to heavies over meds/lights. Too much space taken by buildings, TDs can’t even snipe...Only heavies can decently play here.
Vineyards has 2 cities which is crippling for meds and lights again, no decent sniper position for TDs, open fields so most of players just camp.
Naval Frontier because on sides, the fight looks lik WW1 : everyone is afraid to get out n take a shot because if you do you get shredded by the whole enemy team. Ppl yolo or camp too much, they also camp middle so much to shoot at tanks reaching their positions. The battle ends up too often by a draw between a slow tank and a fast running one

There are only 2 tanks I would buy now. Mutz and 30B. I have been waiting for the mutz for 2 years, and the 30B for months.

30B is awful it’s worse than a 1.6 M48 armor profile wise.
As far as I understand it it’s basically an STB with slightly worse armor and the mobility of the Leopard 1
Who cares about armor the thing has a tumor the size of Texas on the turret. You will get shot first no matter the terrain.

Castilla is a great map. You get to farm noobs on it who either lemming train or poke out on exposed areas.
Castilla is good. But maps like canal, vineyard, Alpenstadt are awesome. To some extent malinikova, canyon are good again.
I'm not a fan of vineyards anymore.

Wasteland map is piece of crap. It was good for Mad Games that were just arcade on steroids, but as an ordinary map it simply sucks. It doesn’t have any features to support map tactics and the gameplay becomes DPM war. Please add an option to disable that map. It is far worse that Himmelsdorf and that IS and achievement. 🤮
It's not true that there's no strategy
It becomes a challenge at upper tiers since it is so small. If they added a “town” and enlarged it a bit, I think it would be just fine
One of my most successful strategic moves ever was to take the wasteland beacon to force the other team to move up so I could get targets.
Really, I would want to see WG revamp Castilla and Canyon
Lived the battle with crazy damage and almost got the beacon too; maybe the could limit it to lower tier play.
I was also very appropriatly playing the scavenger. :-}
It only worked because my team was spread out behind me and were holding them down.

@quaint bay I usually tend to hold the towns of Canal in the slower heavies, I can hold the line pretty well in them.
Mines is easily the worst map in the game right now and having one more way to get on the hill later in the game as well as rocks being removed from the TD hills would fix that

While Mines does need rework. It’s not as bad as folks generally make it out. As getting on the Hill in Mines isn’t as dominant as it once was. The key to Mines is just denying red the Hill- you can farm by the mouth and stay hulldown in most tanks. Any tanks getting on the hill to be effective can be easily proxy spotted and deleted. Controlling the mouth of the hill is key - but can still be negated by rocks opposite (old cap area) and Lighthouse. But the key aspect that shows me Mines is unbalanced and WG knows it is there is no Supremacy version.

The hills are to big there are on both sides camping spots that are close to impossible to spot. On the Castle you need 45° of gun depression to make it work and the there's the side that's supposed to be the med side wich is actually a good side of the map only not enough cover from one side thx to the bridge and at last the encounter cap is impossible to cap

Wasteland sucks. Try driving a grille on it and winning. There is literally nowhere to hide. The camo sucks, the armour is non existent, the gun depression sucks. You're screwed. Last time I was on that map in the grille I did 4k damage (in exchange for a good amount of hp) anyway, but my team was utterly useless, and we lost anyway, because when it comes down to it, the grille can't carry on that map

Lol, how do you think I got 4k? Said game had 4 tanks with 960 HE and a 183. Trouble is that no matter what you do, whenever you go to take a shot at anything, you're always spotted beforehand, making every move dangerous. @jade garnet

Wg has stated that maps are designed so that all tank types have spots built there for them, but for things like the grille, there just aren't. That's wg's failing, not mine.

There is literally one bush for on one side of the map for each spawn, but using it depends on 4 factors:
Your team goes that way (so you don't get smashed alone)
The enemy goes that way (so you have something to shoot at)
You've got good enough camo not to get spotted behind it (grille would struggle here)
You've got at least 8° of gun depression (no chance in a grille...)

Take a grille 15 on that map 10 times without a platoon, come back afterwards and see if you think the same way. I just got the tank and am going for 3k average, so try that at the same time... Utterly futile, you'll see.

Dynasty isn't awful, what you on about. Wasteland is awful, especially in Tier 10, please remove it from high tiers if it's going to be kept in map rotation.
Dynasty is awful, horrid, terrible. 70% of the map is taken by buildings, it’s a big city so meds can’t work properly on it. TDs can’t snipe, and second line is not a Borsig’s role (or other unarmored TD). Only heavies can manage to work on it, and have and advantage over other tank class. So yes, it’s an awful map

Well at first glance the map seems wonderful, though that Tiger corpse lying on the beach seems very out of place. I do enjoy the flak, planes, AA guns, ships, and the random af explosions in the map that adds a chaotic feeling to the battle. Though the crashing/crashed Messerschmitt Me 264 looks really great and kudos to WG for adding that. I think it looks like Gold beach if you ask me, though I'm not 100% sure with that. Another thing is idk how on earth the beach would function as a battlefield as its so open when looking a presented photographs. Right now the map is looking great but I'll have to wait and inspect the map myself before saying anymore. Also suicide cliffs

I have done 12000 battles and I think that Wasteland fits perfect into tier 1-5, but not in tier 6-10 battes. It’s just too small and open for tier X.

In my opinion, i would like to see a battle of the bulge map. In sectors 1,4,7 you could have woods (same with sectors 3,6,9). In the middle have a road, some destroyed tanks and light cover (bushes). You could add some artillery shell crators and some ditches and maybe even trenches. Just an idea.

Wasteland was unbearable in paper German TDs, especially the grille with its lack of gun depression and terrible camo values. Glad it's being removed.
The team that was most able to react to their enemy was that team that won. It requires thought to do well on... And that is most likely why it is being removed. We have a playerbase that can't even bothered to change the direction they spawned in, so I can see why this map gave so many players trouble.
Its terrible for tier 10,it wouldve been fine for tier 8 or 6

Well I loved it. Great map for lights or mediums. Not every map has to hold the hand of heavy drivers.... I'll be sad to see it go.
I did love it in the t49, you could sit a bush in the middle of the map at the very start and take 1/3 of the hp of the first guy you spot

I personally enjoyed Wasteland....great tank for the T-43 to run circles on. I had about three battles where I completely corraled the enemy into one corner of the map >_<

In my opinion - its good that it is getting removed. It didnt fit in with the game style.
Because it forced people to adapt to how the battle was going, not sit in one spot and wait out the other team like Cough Cough Mines Cough Cough.
Now Normandy. THAT'S a map I love. The mood, the setting, the amazing effects they added to the map. Plus great FPS on it for me.

Wasteland spotting is ridiculous, almost every game where I'm a medium on that map, I spot the whole enemy team in under 10 seconds without taking any hits for doing so or even getting spotted in return.
meds are op in wasteland, go middle and spot all of them and farm dmg..
Mediums and Lights can do their flanking and spotting routine, Heavies can brawl it out, gun depression tanks have piles of spots to use, tanks that have nice turrets and not so nice gun depression have spots, only problem is that it is a bit small

Wasteland produces nothing. It's a horrible map for high tier gameplay. It's completely broken because if you're a medium or light tank, you can spot the whole enemy team without taking any damage.
Forcing TDs to show up in more than 1 spot during a match is something that improves variation between matches, and therefore adds to the fun of the game. Wasteland does need some fixing in terms of spotting positions but a lot of the hate I see for it boils down to "I can't sit in the same spot the entire game with my TD on Wasteland" which in my opinion is part of what makes Wasteland a better map than Mines, as on Mines you already know where the enemy TDs are, while on Wasteland they need to be a bit more creative.
You know, I like it because people actually need to think rather than repeat the same match over and over again like a machine.

Complete opposite, you don't need to think on Wasteland.
If a map forces TDs to move around, it forces the effective cover to change, which in turn makes each match different, and then that adds to the thinking you need to do "on the fly" as you're no longer repeating the same match, but reacting to what's happening at that moment
Wasteland had issues in 9-10 as some tanks where exceptionally dominating and others where lame ducks. More so than any other map.
While I do believe it needed some balancing touch ups, I think that breaking up the Mines meta of push to the hill entrance and hide behind a rock is much harder to do than make Wasteland a good map
So while Wasteland will die, I hope that future maps have better mechanisms to force TDs to play more actively.
Anyways, the more incentive the TDs have to move, the more incentives everyone else has to move.
Then, the more incentives everyone else has to move, the more on the fly thinking is needed to succeed in that map.
Personally, I think that would be done by limiting the amount of concealment and cover near the effective vantage points, but also having more effective vantage points in general

Wasteland was never good to begin with,the whole premise for wasteland was mad games.the whole design screams open areas everywhere,the only place that you can trench urself was the heavy(?)side and even then u can get easily pincered and do nothing about it but pray
i can possibly see,like i said,wasteland being bearable for tier 8 and 6 but as a tier 9-10 map your asking for players to leave the game
It's quite a nightmare to drive on this map in a Grille 15
Grille 15 is basically not suited for Blitz why do you expect it to work on Wasteland particularly ?
Wasteland was still the worst map for it, though about 1/3 of the maps are pretty tough sometimes, depending on which spawn you have
Mayan Ruins is one of the worse map in my opinion. Low depression tanks will have a huge disadvantage due to the slopped hills and the map lacks sniping spots due to its curves making my SU 100Y vulnerable. Any maps that have too many hills and lacking sniping spots is really bad. Wasteland is fine since it has olenty of sniping spots and open areas
I disagree because Mayan ruins you can go 2 different ways with 2 different terrains - one with hill and the other flan
on Wasteland you could could go two ways again but both of them had no cover and were open from all sides
so if you are a TD then you can go the heavy lane on Mayan an your gun depression wont matter
How can I set this new map to never play on it again? Its so crap. Gun depression paradise and nothing more but enemy flanks you so easely that its not even funny. It trys to copy WoT but map is to small for it. Its just to open
